A Most Intriguing Mandalay Bay Insight

Reader, Jim, just emailed me something that never quite felt right to me but I was too dense to give it its just due.

“The smoking gun in Vegas is the serving cart in the hallway. Why would Paddock put a camera on the cart? He or his cohorts would only do that if they knew that hotel staff had been instructed to leave that cart in place. Vegas was an FBI sting gone horribly wrong, and the cover up is in full swing. Evidence being planted and removed today in Northern Nevada.
Be safe”

Like I said, I made a mental note of “cart” but really didn’t know why. I never gave it a thought again. Jim did, and I think this is powerful. Who would put a camera on a service cart?

Someone who knew the cart wouldn’t be taken away.

Thoughts?

  1. My thought is there should be a heck of a lot more brass on the floor. Ever should a couple hundred rounds? It goes everywhere. Just saying. Also, yes someone is trying to frame this they want. Just enough truth to shut you up.

Since that wasn’t worth two cents, I will take one back. Now you have a penny for your thoughts.

  2. I had given thought to the cart and camera, but realized that the shooter was a big-time player.
All he had to do is alert staff that he did not want the cart removed. Period.

More importantly is the absence of the ‘eye in the sky’. The absence of Mandalay video as well as video from the outside of the hotel/casino. Stay tuned.

  3. I’d like to think that the information is being held close to the vest so that the investigation can proceed without alarming coconspirators.

But that is fettered with a growing mistrust of the FBI, et al.

I still think that this guy was an Antigun leftist using Alinsky #7, let them live up to their own rules, using the second amendment to punish second amendment people. It’s kind of brilliant in a sick and twisted way.
How many conservative politicians are running to the floor squawking about bump stocks.

He used our tools against us.

I can’t get mired in operational tactics at this point. I’m still stuck on strategy and motive.

  4. As to a second shooter, there should be lots of impact craters or divots all over the ground in the area of the concert, and they all should be pointing back to the window of the hotel room. We’re there any that pointed elsewhere? Has the FBI closed the area to anyone else? Like metro PD?

  5. I thought about him telling the staff to leave the cart, but that brings questions, and any good hotel manager would not allow a dirty cart in an upscale facility for hours on end. And the cameras today are very hard to detect. I know a bit, and a cashier under suspicion will have a camera within inches of the till, and will NEVER know.

  6. It’s really sad that the people of the freest nation on earth are left to speculation and
conjecture because their leaders are self-absorbed and without concern for the masses that pay their salary…if that is indeed the case.

  7. I have read several postings about Soros shorting MGM, which owns Mandalay Bay, in a huge amount. I dont know if the SEC filings are real but they were online also.

  8. Do service carts have a shelf underneath the tablecloth? Are they long enough to hold a couple, three or more long guns? Would they be amiss in a service elevator? Would a guy–say a Filipino guy–wearing a Resort uniform have access to service elevators? Hallways? Staircases? Would he be able to scoot out of an adjoining room into a stairwell carrying evidence/contraband and not look suspicious? Would he know the layout of the building pretty well? Could he then scoot into another room on another floor using the stairwell right across from #135? Could he hide evidence on another room service cart and just blithely sashay on down the hallway a couple hours later as if nothing were wrong? How about TWO Filipino casino workers? Maybe two Filipino casino workers who knew A WHOLE LOT about shooting and had been trained to do so? And maybe a Filipino “security guard” who was casing the hallway to keep it clear and give the OK? And maybe Stephen Paddock never even knew what hit him. The room was staged. The hallway was staged. The WHOLE FREAKING THING was staged. Abu Sayyaf.

  9. Small mistakes of a cover up. There’s NO blood splatter on the spent cartridges lying near the shooter body. The shooters right leg is under a weapon with a Tri Pod on it after he was shot. People don’t fall over stiff when shot in the head like cartoon characters, the crumble. Straight down. I haven’t seen a picture of the entire room so I can’t judge whether there’s enough empties or not. Another thing, we are talking Vegas. Probably the most surrveiled city in the nation.

  10. There is very little about any of this that makes sense.

I keep going back to a family member who is extremely knowledgeable on firearms, he’s one of those type people who can hear a gun shot and tell you what caliber it is. There’s not much about guns he doesn’t know and I don’t think a gun has been made he’s not fired. He said from the very first video he heard a belt fed. He’s been like a dog with a bone about it since the beginning. Has repeatedly called bs on any of the guns mentioned or shown were one of the guns he heard. I can’t just blow what he says off.

Then you have the major timeline change and now it being reported he used the service elevator. The strange camera on the cart that I’ve thought was strange since those pictures came out. The guard was shot in the leg supposedly 6 minutes before he fired on the crowd and yet this guy didn’t get more security up there or the police up there for what would it be, 18 to 20 minutes? I’d have to go back and look when they said they got to the floor.

So many questions, so few answers. Breaking of glass windows and nobody hears. 200 rounds fired through a door and nobody hears. Where did all those bullets go, they had to end up somewhere? What is at the end of that hallway, because it has to have bullets in it?

What was the security guard doing during all that time? Was he involved? Was other employees involved? Hell was the Saudi Prince who partially owns the Four Seasons that is in the same hotel involved? Why did Wynn say he didn’t drink, yet others say he was a mean drunk? Who gave him access to the service elevators? What the hell does the girlfriend know? What does the crazy ass brother know?

My gut says he had inside help and that it was either related to Muslims or leftists and that’s why these questions aren’t being answered.

Trump really needs to have the FBI investigated by an outside source or just disband it.

  11. ‘thoughts’ … if he requested the cart not be removed wouldn’t there have been instructions, either verbal or written, to the housekeeping staff? … & wouldn’t someone from the housekeeping staff have come forward w/ those instructions? either voluntarily or by interrogation?
either someone knows something & they’re not divulging, or it’s just an oversight that the perp was counting on.

  12. That cart puzzled me, too. I feel like the casino guard with the shifting timeline is somehow related to that cart. But what is this service elevator access thing which Steve Wynn mentioned? Now they’re saying that high rollers got access to the service elevator as a perk? And unescorted access, according to Wynn. That sounds like thee biggest load of shit. WTH kind of perk is that?

  13. I think the cart had a Red Herring on it.

Why not put a camera on it if you are planning on shooting anyone who comes close? He had room service for 2, you put the cart out in the hallway after that. No biggie.

  14. The cart theory is interesting. Here’s what I believe happened: Shooter was being set up by FBI/ATF for some kind of sting operation. I say gun-running, not terrorism. FBI/ATF are famous for orchestrating schemes (Fast & Furious?), then recruiting a patsy to take the fall and be “apprehended” (or killed), so they can strut around like like they’ve done a great thing (Branch Davidians?). LV shooter (being an intelligent high-stakes gambler) was either tipped off or figured out he was being framed (prob. by the security guard’s unexpected actions), and after realizing he was going to rot in prison, snapped in a fit of rage and exacted his revenge by committing the mass shooting. He got back at the FBI by ruining their entrapment scheme (Ruby Ridge?)and took out his anger on innocent people. The concert-goers were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. No politics – no terrorists – just another example of our out-of-control and incompetent Federal “Law Enforcement”. P.S. This scheme was prob. set in motion under the Holder/Comey regimes as a gift for the Hilldabeast to exploit. How’s that?

  15. Old Racist White Woman

THAT WAS A BELT FED HEAVY MACHINE GUN. Said it when I listened to the live feed. Vets that were there said, “THAT WAS A BELT FED HEAVY MACHINE GUN”. And that guy that stood up for Trump in the hospital room is saying he got shot by someone close, on the ground.
We will never know the answers here. The fix is in.

  16. Third Twin – If a high roller is given access to a private elevator it won’t be a freight elevator.

Which reminds me, with marijuana now legal, and shops ready to sprout up in LV, the term high roller will have a new meaning.

  17. Hairy_Nablins

Interesting theory. It’s being reported his brother was interrogated into the wee hours of the morning by the authorities and said, “My brother didn’t need any help he was an ARMS”. He stopped there. Arms dealer, Army Ranger, Army Strong? If this story is true the brother is now complicit.

  18. I would like to congratulate Eric Holder and James Comey, along with Barack Obama, for reducing confidence and trust in our law enforcement agencies to just about zero. Between covering up stupid operations gone wrong (Fast and Furious), covering for crooked politicians (Hillary Clinton), refusing to enforce laws they just didn’t like (immigration), and encouraging whack groups like BLM, we are now in a position where we don’t believe anything the FBI, DEA, ICE, AG or name your own alphabet combination has to say.

I get it – they don’t want to compromise the investigation. But it’s too late for that because the popular belief is now “Keystone Cops Turn Corrupt.” Thanks, Obama administration dirt bags.

  19. BB, I wrote a novel, belt fed was shorter to write. lol

Again, I can’t just blow off what he says because I know how much he knows and how good his ears are when it comes to firearms.

As for on the ground someone shared a video on FB that sure looked like someone in the crowd firing at people and people were falling. I can’t show it to you because FB removed it.

  20. Many of the answers to these questions could be put to bed if they released just portions of the hotel security camera footage. Just clips would satisfy the public for now, until the investigation is completed.

The Sheriff confirmed the photos are authentic. That feeds the narrative Paddock was the shooter, “look, heres his dead body”.

I began to imagine a far out theory. This was originally devised with the presumption Hillary would be President when it took place. Perhaps that explains the negro concerts having been aborted targets. If she had won and this took place, and blacks were massacred, she would have had the “urgent justification” to move on her promised Executive Action on gun seizures. It would have been an unstoppable momentum and the repubics would have went along like on Odinga Care.

But Trump won and the plan was in place, the money was paid, and the players were set, so they went ahead with it anyway. In for a penny, in for a pound. A stretch? perhaps but I do not trust the FBI or about 97% of the elected criminals.

  21. Speaking of Holder/Lynch FBI… where’s Faye Wray, new director? Largest mass shooting in US Soil and nada.
Saw him in a hearing a couple of weeks ago and he’s in way over his head. Almost seems to be a placeholder.

  22. Here is another thought. How in the hell did so many damn fires start on the same day in California. I have a long time friend that is right now trying to escape with his wife and two little kids, leaving their house behind. They live in the Santa Rosa area, and his mother has a really nice winery in Healdsburg. There are a lot of people in trouble there. I know it is dry there and the conditions are right for a fire, but 17 in one day?

  23. My understanding was that Wynn said NOBODY accesses the service elevator in his hotels without a staff member. And that NOBODY can leave a “Do Not Disturb” sign up for more than 12 hours. But Mandalay is not a Wynn hotel. Paddock wearing gloves and laying dead all stretched out? His foot UNDER a rifle? Umm, NO! Green masking tape, a notepad and a big Sharpie marker to write trajectory calculations? WHAAAaaaat? To mark prices for the guns is more like it. Maybe I’ve read too much Sherlock Holmes, but none of the photos or news makes sense.

  24. This NY Post article from 2013, citing an Associated Press investigation says guest room hallways in Las Vegas casinos do not use video surveillance.

“[…]. Las Vegas casinos — some of the most closely-watched spaces in the world — don’t have video cameras in guest room hallways, an absence that hotel workers like Patrick, patrons and prosecutors say can act as a green light for crime.

Casino bosses say there is no need for extra security: America’s playground boasts more cameras per square foot than any airport or sports arena in the country, with thousands of high-tech lenses watching the gambling floors, lobbies and elevators.”
    […]

  25. The elevations and distance markings are absurd. We were told it was a “spray and pray” shooting. Thats how we were supposed to believe that one man shot almost 600 people in five minutes, many of the deceased being head shot. Scopes on rifles that were fired in continuous automatic type bursts of fire. I dont see him taking time to aim and adjust his fire if he fired what had to be at least 1300 rounds in five minutes. And that would mean almost every other round hit a person. Thats not including the 200 or more in the hallway.

  26. joe6pak

Super dry conditions and a Red Flag warning. It’s a blow torch. I have family on the fire in the Wine Country. There saying it’s a killer. How they started is another story.

  27. Also there’s been 15 people confirmed burned to death, the local news is consumed with the grapes that were still left on the vines and not harvested. I guess they”re all wine drinkers. There’s also about 150 people missing. Entire cement laden subdivisions burnt to the ground.

  28. Mass shootings in Vegas, fires at the right opportunity? Could be jihadis. I hope the Jeff Sessions and the FBI are putting detective hats on instead of going into their three stooges act.

  29. Strange how nobody gives a shit about bump feed stocks anymore. In fact, the whole gun control hysteria just evaporated over the weekend. Must have been Weinstein. I think Bad_Brad is right. It’s been ghazied. Had some optimism, but not much now.

There’s something about the county sheriff departments in metro areas that rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it’s because they all seem to prioritize politics before policing. Which is why the Feds prefer to work with them, I reckon. Who did Barky go to when he wanted to shut down Nakoula Basseley Nakoula? LA County Sheriff Lee Baca.

  30. I did wonder about the cart but not to that depth of thinking. It was a passing thought when I read the article in the Las Vegas Review Journal: “Huh. Wonder why he thought housekeeping or food service staff wouldn’t remove it? And what if they did and found the camera? Boy did he get lucky.”

  31. ““Trajectory calculations…” So now this guy (Paddock) is a physics expert?”

Well it’s not physics it’s math. I’d really be interested in knowing what recitals this guy was shooting. Shooters only shoot Mil or MOA. One or the other but not both. You’ve inadvertently brought up a really good point. If there was a mix this is really bull shit.

  32. @all too much
Well cut my legs off and call me shorty!
Does that make sense to you? B’cause the LAST place a hotel would want to guard against liability is break-ins in guest rooms accessed via the HALLWAY!
Who doesn’t believe they’ve been captured on surveillance everyday since 9/11?
I’m even paranoid I’m being watched in my own shower!

  33. Vietvet

I posted that here. And there’s a couple new one out that I’m not posting. It’s been beat to the ground. But I can’t help thinking you have heard a belt fed heavy machine gun on a two way firing range. I have not heard your opinion yet. I’m dying to know pal. No jokes. What say you.I would love to hear your opinion on the gun fire.

  34. It is also pretty amazing that none of the ‘200 shots’ fired seemed to disturb the cart. If they were fired, that is. A photo or two of the hallway would be nice. The door by the stairway, where the breech entrance was made, certainly doesn’t look like swiss cheese. There is so much that just doesn’t fit. paddock would have gone totally deaf with all that noise in that confined space, if he wasn’t already dead, in my opinion.
I think the elevator for floors 31 (maybe 32) and above, including the top 4 floors, is separate from the other elevators of the building. The rooms on those floors are considered to be suites and have VIP access. There needs to be more consideration of the upper floors, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that would be thwarted because of ‘diplomatic imunnity’ or some other sort of horseshit.
In the Police call logs, the entry for 41:50 is interesting:
41:50 – Be advised, there is a subject on the heli-pad
43:10 – Just FYI, we are posted on Cobalt, just North of the target RV at Tropicana
43:49 – Moving in on a possible, right on the side of Motel 6, there’s 3 of us out here
45:05 – “CONFIRMING, the Mandalay Bay and Alibaba/Giles are the 2 shooting locations!” “Do we have a 3rd?”

And at 45:05 they CONFIRM there are multiple shooting locations. Again, that is confirm.
I still wonder if that isn’t a shell casing resting on the suicide revolver.

    Oh look- harvey weinstein!

  35. I goofed in my earlier post.
I searched the transcripts of the LVPD call logs for ‘confirm’ and got another entry. At 18:51 they confirm multiple shooters at MB.
00:56 – Shots coming from half way up
1:12 – Active shooter INSIDE the fairground
    3:44 – Shots coming FROM Gate 7
5:38 – Shots from middle of casino, west tower, towards the center, middle floors
6:59 – flashing 1/3 of the way up
    9:02 – about 15th floor
14:47 – Civilian witnesses saying possible 3 shooters
14:54 – Multiple witnesses saying multiple people shot or were shooting
16:26 – White car going the wrong way towards Mandalay Bay
17:39 – Security reports shots fired on floors 29 and 32
18:30 – Security guard shot on 32nd floor
18:51 – Blockade established on 32nd floor, will need the 29th floor, “CONFIRMED there are at least 2 shooters with fully automatic weapons”
19:20 – Get cameras (cctv?) to see the 29th and 32nd floor

  36. @Bad_Brad (at 11:58 pm): I fired an M60 when I was in Vietnam, but that’s been almost 50 years ago, so I don’t trust my memory on the exact sound anymore. The video seems convincing, but I’ve never heard a semi-auto rifle “bump” fired, so I don’t know if that would produce a rate of fire slow enough to match the belt-fed weapon. Seems like it possibly could, but again, I’m not sure.

Long story short, I don’t know. I’m trying to keep an open mind about this and not get involved with any conspiracy theories until more facts are discovered/released.

    Which may take a while.

  37. for what it is worth sounded like a larger caliber slower cycling auto weapon to me, though the echo sounded like a smaller caliber faster cycling maybe M-4, Has the concert area been plowed up and hauled away? maybe tomorrow? Hazardous waste with all the blood you know.

  38. I’ve traveled all around the Northern hemisphere, live on a vacation island, been to Vegas, and stayed in hotels all over the US.

NOT ONCE has a serving cart been left in my room after a delivery. You set your service on the floor for the pickup.

HOW D phuck would a hotel wait staff support managing 400 carts being left all over the hotel? I always get the upgraded rooms and not the basic ones. This smells.

And I’m with Brad, there was a crew served weapon firing. When are they gonna start digging lead out of the ground/field in that area?

  39. I doubt there WAS a camera on the cart.
There is so much BS out there that is being contradicted daily.

As for the cart, if you don’t call and have it picked up, it can sit for hours. Not a priority on a busy Sunday evening.
We already know he had room service.

  40. @LBS: “I doubt there WAS a camera on the cart.”
Here is a pic of the cart, outside the door of 32134. The camera is under a napkin or plate, and is also directly under the chair rail moulding. It is pointed towards the double entry doors of 32135 and also the stairs. If you look at the corner of the door, at the floor below the handle, you can see cable running out then again it can be found on top of the cart. This pic was taken immediately before crime scene tape was put up.
That obviously wasn’t the door that was shot through or breached. It is the door to the room that the Australian tourist said was registered in his name.
Not much of this makes much sense.
