The most specious argument yet regarding “gun control.”

I have a right to bear arms. It shall not be infringed.

There is nothing in the constitution that guarantees my right to own a hotel that is a fire trap, or sell food that is rancid, or build a road that has obvious hazards along the way.

Laws created by people as we make our way through life are a give and take. How far can the government go to “make food safe”? Do they ban sugar? We debate. We vote politicians out that have lost their way on the concept of the common good.

My right to self-defense and self-preservation with a gun is unalienable. That can’t be voted on.

  1. I’m also supposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, and I guess things have deteriorated to the point now that I should point out I must commit a crime and be charged before I can be deprived of life, liberty or property, which includes my firearms.

  2. One aspect of this story that is so sickening is how gleeful the left is that this even happened because they hope to use it against those of us that are law abiding citizens that own guns because it is our right to do so. And it is our right to protect ourselves, our family, and our property. I sure hope some world class police work get done on this because this story is not about one piece of shit losing it.

  3. Let me fix it for you.
…a discussion AMONG LIBERALS about how to make hotels safer.
…a conversation AMONG LIBTARDS about how to make food safer.
…USEFUL IDIOTS would demand to make our roads safer.
The author is right – any of these is EQUALLY POLITICAL when the libtards use them to move their agenda FORWARD!!!!!

  4. Maybe they could publish a special edition of Time, or even resurrect the old Life magazine, with photos and names of the thousands of people murdered in gun controlldd Chicago from 2008 through 2016.

It would never happen. Blacks lives don’t matter unless they are shot by a cop.

  5. For the past 23 years gun ownership in America went upwards by 52%. We can thank 0bama for a large portion of that stat. Also, murder due to guns has decreased by 49%. One doesn’t have to be a math expert to recognize that gun ownership is a safe and responsible reflection on the Second Amendment.

  6. If a hotel had caught fire, we wouldn’t be going off half-cocked to make hotel shower stalls “safer”. We would be looking first to see what caused the fire, and addressing that.

    The weapons didn’t malfunction.

The weapons themselves don’t need to be made “safer”, any more than knives need to be made “safer” by making them unable to cut.

What malfunctioned in this case and needs to be made safer are particular kinds of people. I might be up for discussing banning the sale to and possession of firearms by people who have antifa, communist, or jihadi literature in their homes and/or “liked” from their social media pages, and/or who have been photographed wearing pink pussy hats.

  7. Jeez MJA I’m watching FOX news inadvertently make a good case for the gun grabbers. Fxcking big city idiots. Like it or not this country is all about the gun. Rightfully so. A concealed pistol would have done you little good in this situation. It was a gun free zone. So was the hotel. Would he be detoured if he thought his neighbors were armed? There’s a lot more than meets the eye here though. Weird shit.

You should start a Horse Drawn Murder scene tour business. Have somebody throw some 556 brass out along the route and act shocked when you see it. You’ll be RICH I tell ya.

  8. Bad_Brad. I did. It’s not as bad as I thought. I hope he suffered though. Ass. I was more disturbed by the carpeting. All that money they earn off suckers playing the bandits by the front doors, and they pick THAT pattern?

  9. MJA, you’re right, it’s ugly as hell. I think the strategy in in Vegas is to make the rooms a little bit uncomfortable so the guests look to get out of the room. One of the few hotels I’ve stayed in that truly had a comfortable room is the Bellagio. I stayed there right after they opened. They probably realized their mistake and remade the room to make it ugly.

  10. In EACH of the 4 examples, people are involved
    1) WHO set the fire (NOT the hotel)
    2) WHO caused the food to go bad (NOT the food)
    3) WHO drove the tanker (NOT the highway)
    4) WHO shot the firearm (NOT the gun)
