Karine Jean-Pierre Spews the Usual “Threat to Democracy” Diatribe While Warning Press Not to Incite the Public

Townhall

Jean-Pierre brought up examples of January 6 as well as the attack on Paul Pelosi and the July 13 assassination attempt to claim Biden is “very consistent.”

When [ABC News’ Selina] Wang asked again about Trump’s rhetoric, Jean-Pierre claimed Trump represents a threat. “President Biden has been clear-eyed about the threat that the former president represents to our democracy,” she claimed, as she again brought up January 6.

“And so, it’s not going to stop the president and the vice president to call out–to continue to strongly call out. You know, when it comes to protecting our democracy, we have to be forceful about that. We have to be very clear,” she continued.

Later in the briefing, Jean-Pierre was asked by Fox News’ Peter Doocy about her language referring to Trump as a threat, a question she did not take too kindly to. More

  1. ‘”Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?”; also expressed as “troublesome priest” or “meddlesome priest”) is a quote attributed to Henry II of England preceding the death of Thomas Becket, the Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1170. While the quote was not expressed as an order, it prompted four knights to travel from Normandy to Canterbury, where they killed Becket. The phrase is commonly used in modern-day contexts to express that a ruler’s wish may be interpreted as a command by his or her subordinates. It is also commonly understood as shorthand for any rhetorical device allowing leaders to covertly order or exhort violence among their followers, while still being able to claim plausible deniability for political, legal, or other reasons.’
