Here’s that feature we said we were going to start where a reader gets to select something mirthful, delightful, smile inducing, stress reducing.
And then when someone says, “well, that sucked,” we’ll reset back to our natural curmudgeonly state! lol
This is from Bongo. Enjoy. These guys were a big part of my childhood. They always made a rainy summer Saturday or Sunday a little bit better to take if they were on.
(If anyone wants to participate they should send a link to bigfurhat.mail@gmail.com. No posting is guaranteed, however.)
(Special consideration for videos found anywhere other than Youtube.)
Good luck, Bongo!
LOL. Al Sharpton should be in there.
I loved the Bowery Boys when we got a TV when I was 7-8 years old. They probably were on TV though when I was about 10-12 and older. We watched and laughed and laughed.
Thanks for the memories.
Boys came on after school when I was a kid. We’d sympathize our watches and catch it most afternoons.
i dont recall ever seeing these. Looks like fun. Will have to look for videos.
Saturday afternoons…good times. The “Dead End” kids were considerably darker characters, though.
Back when hollywood cared about entertaining us in the masses.
Not for nothing, but I remember a long time ago, Fur posted an exclusive iowntheworld video of dancing clips from classic movies…with Green Onions as the sound track. It was quite brilliant. Maybe a reposting of it would fit nicely under this mirthful category.
The Bowery Boys or Dead End Kids were unanamalousely stupendious.
Watched them on Saturdays while I ate my favorite meal – beans and franks.
Huntz Hall rocked!
I was/am a fan–used to be shown on local TV after school or late Sat. afternoons.
Thanks!
I think Rev Sharpton spent too many of his formative years watching them.
Terrific post! And superbly, aptly narrated by Norm Crosby.
Love this! 😀
