Wouldn’t you want to do a manual count to see if the machines were reporting accurate results? You could argue that a machine count would be faster than a hand count, but saying that it would be more accurate would be putting a lot of trust in those machines — trust that has to be earned and verified.
Double speak for the sake of unadulterated cheating.
