The Virginia plant where Boar’s Head produced its tainted products had dozens of health and safety violations, prompting a lawyer to liken it to a “listeria factory.”
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service published a 74-page PDF earlier this month detailing the numerous violations that were found at the Jarrett, Virginia, plant from January 2022 through Aug. 1, 2024. More
Sounds like they might have succumbed to the low price of migrant labor…
The low price of labor does not make up for the impact of quality issues as a result.
I wonder how many millions of dollars Boar’s Head has squandered so far in 2024, mostly by hiring stupid, diseased, unclean, CHEAP labor.
oops — should be “…millions of dollars OF GOODWILL…”
According to the most recent ACS, the racial composition of Jarratt was:
White: 51.02%
Black or African American: 46.84%
Two or more races: 1.71%
Asian: 0.43%
Native American: 0%
Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander: 0%
Other race: 0%
Contaminated food is suicide to any food company!
Or deliberate to create more food shortages.
It’s actually in Jarratt, Virginia.
Are Boar’s Head deli meat prices to become less expensive because of this or will it be more of the same. I haven’t noticed as many Boar’s Head commercials on TV lately.
Sounds like more “gain of function” research..
…uhhh, where was USDA when all this was going on? I work in a Federally inspected food plant with USDA-FSIS inspectors permanantly stationed on-site and they roam around ALL DAY and are NOT shy about pointing out deficiencies or threatening to red-tag anything if they sense defiance…
Some businesses are more susceptible to government ‘inspections’ than government ‘overreach’.
Would have thought on-site self-inspection of the bacterial zoo and proper processing would have minimized “escapes” when their company is on the line. But, oh wait, yeah, Boeing.
“…uhhh, where was USDA when all this was going on?”
I enjoy the hell out of some of their products. Before we all get whipped up in a lather how did their citations compare to the rest of the industry. After all, those citations are revenue for our corrupt feds.
Wow. Destroying YEARS worth of high reputation in one swoop. It’s only going to get worse as the investigaion and resulting lawsuits reveal the sordid details. Boars’ Head should be called Boars’ Ass.
Boars Head isn’t a big spender when it comes to political donations. The only political donation I can find is $216.00. To Donald Trump. Maybe not Boars ass you one dimensional thinker.
How many violations does it take to get shut down?
One if you’re a republican or a MAGA supporter, none if you’re a protected minority victim class or a democrap.
Revolver pegged them for DEI “refugee” program.

A lot of food processors like to use illegals.
In a similar vein, I refuse to buy Chobani products because…
“Chobani has been a vocal advocate for refugee resettlement and has actively employed refugees from various countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, and others.”
…I don’t want some guy who wipes his ass with his hand anywhere near my food.
I understand the Soylent Green Loaf is to die for…
Their overworked and underpaid illegal workers are probably taking a shit in the bologna vats because they’re not allowed to leave the factory floor for 8 hours at a stretch.
Litigate this company into non-existence! and jail all upper management, all the way up-to the CEO! once in jail, serve them their own meats on moldy bread.
fuck em!
