On Friday, the city of Duluth asked thousands of residents to turn down their thermostats potentially through Saturday in hopes of avoiding a shutdown of heat during bitterly cold air, after a massive gas pipe break within the can of worms project in Lincoln park.
City officials say Thursday afternoon a contractor drove through a piling, hitting the city’s main gas line within the can of worms construction going on near Michigan Street and 19th Avenue West. More
This same thing happened on the SW side of Atlanta 285/85 junction. The contractor stated to the TV reporter that he wasn’t aware of any pipelines, he was propped up on one of our pipeline signs while on tv.
How the F-in’ F do you drive THROUGH a piling, FFS?
Socialism = shared misery.
This is all part of Biden’s Retarded Soviet Build Back Better program.
Now imagine 10 years into the future where everyone has a NEST or Smart Thermostat.
They will not ask you to turn down to 62F
They WILL automatically turn you down to 52 deg F because they can & will.
Currently they must keep the request reasonable, the future will not be.
My 34th year of HVAC service.
Don’t they mean UP to 62?
Build back “Stu Cazzo” (This Dick in Italian)
Oddly pronounced: Stuuu Kaaat Sooo
If you want to sound authentic.
Have fun in public with it folks.
Not only is biden a reminder of how bad jimmy carter was as a president, we’re being reminded of carters energy policies too. Next they’ll be asking us to wear sweaters.
The Duluth Trading Company just wants to sell more insulated bibs, wool socks and long johns
People will simply turn their electric heaters on to make up for the loss. It might put a big spike on their grid.

Don’t they mean UP to 62?
==============
No. They want you to set it no higher than 62. It assumes, correctly, that normal settings are above 62 in the winter. So “down” is correct.
Unless you personally set your thermostat lower than 62 and 62 would be up for you.
We need Thorium reactors.
62? Dats nuttin. On da range, we leave the heat off and just rip the doors off the cupboards and burn em in da wood stove.
^^^^^
Exactly.
Dumb democRATz at work! First they actually called it the
“Can Of Worms” project. Then they really thought this thru to do construction near a major gas artery in the middle of winter!! Why not do this work in the middle of June or July? Then how do you rupture a major gas supply line and call it a “very significant gas leak” that is not dangerous? WTF?!?!?!?
The elites won’t be cold, that’s for sure
Duluth can pound sand!
Now it”l be warmer at (in) the lake.
Many years up there 62 in the house was a luxury, only when having guests from the cities (down south).
Duh-luth.
Even in So-cal it’s cold. What’s it feel like in a snow-hole in northern Minnesota? An ice cube in a snow-ball between a witches two teats at the South Pole?
Duluth is half republican, the workers who drove thru the pilings weren’t dems they were guess who. Thats right republicans.
You’re an ASS anonymous
Goldenfoxx,
An experienced guy like You must have a Wood Burning Stove.
The only thing I need for my French Godin coal stove is coal. I have a ton in the coal bin. No electric needed.
Why don’t the liberal, (cold-blooded assholes), turn THEIR thermostat down to 52 so the rest of us ‘warm-blooded’ animals can live as GOD intended???
All I know is that I CAN’T DRIVE 55
Twenty degrees and the hockey games on
Nobody cares; they are way too far gone
Screamin’ “Boat drinks!”, something to keep them all warm
This morning,
I shot six holes in my freezer
I think I got cabin fever. Somebody sound the alarm!
There is not a Lincoln Park in Duluth GA, They may want to specify which Duluth they are talking about.
I would think 62 would be downright balmy in Dull-uth in wintertime…
Reminds me of bumper stickers many of us had in Alaska in 77-80. “Let the Bastards Freeze in the Dark”. We had unusually warm winters then, plus the climate warriors were getting fired up then.
