Daily Caller: Elton John’s team reportedly feared he had been targeted in an assassination attempt when he was left bloodied onstage and then blacked out, according to the singer.

The Rocket Man was taken off from his piano amid fears that shots had been fired in the middle of a concert in Greensboro, North Carolina, according to a report published Thursday by RadarOnline. It was later revealed that a person in the crowd allegedly threw a metal pipe onto the stage that struck the legendary singer in his temple. John recalled that he had blood streaming down his face from the shocking incident and said he blacked out as a result of the injury. more

  11. “hash pipe”…sounds 80s to me. I remember when w—some guys I heard about—were getting hash from Afghanistan. Word was that the mujahideen were financing the war against the Soviets with it. And apparently, this one guy was making these knockout chocolate candy with it. Anyway, that’s what I heard.

  17. You all know that he was a great friend of Rush and his wife.
    He called Rush soon after he lost his hearing and they became very good friends,that was more than twenty year’s ago.
    Elton John played at Rush’s and Katherine’s wedding.
    A news report last week was that Elton is now blind.

    If Rush was alive he would have called him in support.

  26. Disregard my last comment. Turns out that was an unofficial site that keeps track of potential upcoming concert dates.
    All articles reporting the news came out in the last two days and the way they are written makes it sound like this just happened, but best I could find on-line – Elton’s last concert in Greensboro, NC was 19 April 2022 – so two and a half years ago.

  31. Stunned and bleeding from a hash pipe? Those things weigh maybe an ounce or two in most cases. I smell bullshit, or, at least an attempt to garner more attention in a sad need for relevance.
