Failure to launch: NASA Artemis mission postponed due to leaky fuel connection

JTN
NASA on Saturday postponed the launch of its Artemis rocket, citing a leak issue in one of the engines, though the launch appeared to still be scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

“Engineers detected a liquid hydrogen leak in a quick disconnect cavity and have stopped flowing the propellant to the core stage while they troubleshoot,” the agency said in a blog post earlier in the day. “Launch controllers are attempting to warm up the quick disconnect to attempt to reseat it to get a tight seal. Liquid oxygen flow is continuing.”

By late Saturday morning the agency announced it was scrubbing the Saturday launch.”Teams attempted to fix an issue related to a leak in the hardware transferring fuel into the rocket, but were unsuccessful,” NASA wrote on Twitter. MORE

  1. Just subcontract the whole shebang to Elon and be done with it.

Did you ever notice that every success is called a “scientific achievement”, and every setback is an “engineering failure”?

  2. The engineers are still very upset from the January 6th invasion of the Capitol by ultra MAGA Trump supporters, when ten thousand million White Supremacists tried to overthrow Muh Democraci.

They will be given meditation recordings and chair massages while FBI agents search Trump’s underwear drawer, and I’m sure they will be able to get it up after that.

  3. I may start reconsidering some Aluminum Hat theories if they can’t get their rocket to launch, like failing perhaps on purpose?

No earthling has been there since the early 1970’s. Maybe they’re afeerd/sceert of SOMETHING IN OR ON THE MOON!!!
