How Many Times is the Gerber Baby Going to Die?

This is like the Mandela effect. I swear the Gerber baby died like 3 times.

Newser-

Ann Turner Cook, whose cherubic baby face was known the world over as the original Gerber baby, has died. She was 95. Gerber announced Cook’s passing in an Instagram post on Friday. “Many years before becoming an extraordinary mother, teacher and writer, her smile and expressive curiosity captured hearts everywhere and will continue to live on as a symbol for all babies,” the company said, per the AP. Cook was 5 months old when a neighbor, artist Dorothy Hope Smith, drew a charcoal sketch of her that was later submitted for a contest Gerber was holding for a national marketing campaign for baby food.

The image was a hit, so much so that it became the company’s trademark in 1931 and has been used in all packaging and advertising since. For decades, though, the identity of the baby was kept secret, spurring rumors about who it was with guesses including Humphrey Bogart and Elizabeth Taylor. In the late 1970s, it was revealed to be Cook, who grew up to be an English teacher in Tampa, Florida, and later a mystery novelist.

Cook told the AP in a 1998 interview that her mother had told her when she was young that she was the baby in the illustration. She said, “If you’re going to be a symbol for something, what could be more pleasant than a symbol for baby food?” As for the image itself, she said, “All babies are appealing. The reason that drawing has been so popular is the artist captured the appeal that all babies have.”

  1. If I had my way, that Gerber baby picture would be in every Planned Parenthood murder facility with the caption: Think Again Before You Decide To Kill.

  2. @99th Squad Leader: One would think that Gerber would be all in for women having babies. If it’s their main business, makes sense to protect your eatership. But then again, we’re seeing the woke going broke. Doesn’t bother me on the baby side of the economy, glad I don’t have children under the age of 21. I’m not even a grandparent, and I am grateful for that as well. I believe my children saw the handwriting on the wall and decided it was a bad idea to bring children into this horrible world. So many uncertainties…Matthew 24:19

  3. “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

  4. Goldenfoxx, Yeah, Gerber probably is currently a proud partner with Planned Parenthood. Total hypocrisy. All babies are wonderful, however there shouldn’t be shame or guilt about an ideal image of what most babies resemble. The left ruin everything.

BTW, I definitely understand your children’s concern about this evil world. Yet, if you know Christ as Savior and Lord, under His Blood there is protection and grace for your family based on God’s kingdom system. Christians occupy this world, but we are not part of this world – John 17:14-16.
Yes, we suffer tough circumstances in life but God will make a way for you and yours in faith by His Word.
    Isaiah 41:10, Proverbs 3:5-6.
Remember, children are a blessing from God – Psalm 127:3-5, so are grandchildren, Psalm 17:6. He will provide – trust Him.
