Hurricane Update – IOTW Report

Hurricane Update

I bugged out. I’m in Fort Myers.

Mr. Pinko’s version of a safe house isn’t exactly a cot and watermelon soup.

1. Think of this as a vacation forced on you by government weather computer models and knowing that mother nature might/could choose to follow the computer model that will make the U.N. and Obummer jubilant.

2. Good idea. You don’t screw around with cat 4 hurricane. I always liked Captiva Island and Mucky Duck.

My friends in west palm beach phone numbers won’t come up in my contact list. I hoped they bugged out.

3. Irish is right; driving across the state, especially from your redneck of the woods, is a monumental pain in the ass through miles and miles of citrus groves, inland poverty and two-laned fuck-all.

I’ve been talking to friends from North Miami, West Palm, Stuart, Merritt Isld and PSL The Pizzle Fo Shizzle. The Merritt Isld guy evac’d but the others are all staying. So would I. I only leave for Cat 5’s. Cat 4’s you stay and shoot the looters. 🙂

The storm should be due east of PSL about 200am tonight. Maybe it’ll demolish Omar Mateen’s house! Yay!

4. That’s great, Fur, though I was looking forward to your plogging. Now Mr. Pinko can regale you with all the reasons he chose Trump over everyone else in the primaries. Maybe you two can do some walking and knocking to GOTV. 😉

Have fun!

5. Glad you’re ok BFH. Glad you got out.

Now you can kick back, drink in hand, and watch Matthew defy most or all of the computer projections.
It’s an old Florida tradition.

It’s been interesting as familiar posters disclose their home locales.
Sounds like a lot of us are in Florida and/or DC.

Hoping everybody is safe and losses are below projections.
FL Gov. Rick Scott has handled his public bulletins and advisories really well.
Natural disasters are a special challenge due to demographics, geography and such a large percentage of older folks who are vulnerable.

6. I know you had to have your arm twisted off to go to where you are…I’m sure you were adamant in demanding your right to stay at a Red Cross school gymnasium shelter and eat government surplus cheese sandwiches.
Glad you’re okay and out of the line of fire.

7. Good deal. Didn’t know Pinko relocated to FL too.

Have a beer or two on me 😉>>>

Want to clarify the post. This is not Pinko’s place. He just has tentacles everywhere, somehow.

8. >> Did you notice any other cars on the road or were you all alone on your journey?>>

I left around 4:30 am

Alligator alley was devoid of any traffic at all.
I hit nothing until Ft. Myers.
Then it was just commuters on the way to work.

9. I posted this over at CTH but think it proper and good to post it here also.

Dear Abba we pray this prayer for those who are facing this storm called Matthew.

† Prayer or Blessing Against Storms †

Please make the Sign of the Cross where the crosses are in the prayer.

† Jesus Christ a King of Glory has come in Peace. † God became man, † and the Word was made flesh. † Christ was born of a Virgin. † Christ suffered. † Christ was crucified. † Christ died. † Christ rose from the dead. † Christ ascended into Heaven. † Christ conquers. † Christ reigns. † Christ orders. † May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning † Christ went through their midst in Peace, † and the Word was made Flesh. † Christ is with us with Mary. † Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Generation of Judah, the Root David, has won. † Holy God! † Holy Powerful God! † Holy Immortal God! † Have mercy on us. Amen

10. I thought you would kiteboard up the coast at 140MPH and we could meet for breakfast in Charleston tomorrow.

Good move. Port st Lucie is not a place anyone needs to be for the next 24 hours. Hopefully your property will be unscathed.

11. does FL have early voting?
Y’all need to go vote for the preezy before your electricity shuts down

fill your bathtubs & with water & charge your laptop/cell phone batteries now

12. Glad you got out of there! I live in California and I’d take an earthquake any day over a hurricane. The big one was suppose to hit Tuesday but it never happened. Looks like yours is going to hit tonight. Keep safe!

13. @ Eugenia Certified Deplorable,

You are welcome. I forgot to correct the typo from the website. It really should read: Jesus Christ THE King of Glory, not “A” King…

Something I try to do is light a blessed candle during a storm.

14. @Life in the north
That reminds me it’s time for:
It’s winter in Ohio
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy mile an hour
At thirty-five below.

Oh how I love Ohio
When the snow’s up to your butt
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful…

So I guess I’ll hang around
I could never leave Ohio
Cause I’m frozen to the ground!

15. I love the winter time, the bastard people next door stay inside and its quieter and I’m retired.
By the way I set a new record. Haven’t left the property since July 18,2013? Went to Home Depot to buy all new appliances I mean everything.
The wife still works so she brings me whatever I need. She is 12 years younger.
We only have one vehicle now so I would have to walk.

16. http://www.beachhunter.net/webcams/index.htm

Hey y’all, here’s a link to a list of Florida beach cams, starting in P-Cola, working it’s way south along the west coast, wrapping around the Keys and then heading north along the East Coast.

For those seeking Hurricane Porn, may I suggest the Boynton Beach Inlet Cam. The tides surge thru there like shit thru a goose and the waves can stack up pretty high. Sebastian Inlet is good for that too. Bakers Haulover would be good too but I didnt see a beach cam listed for there.
