UFP: RALEIGH, NC – On Friday, officials with the Raleigh Police Department made public the fact that alcohol was involved in a fatal crash which occurred a few days before Christmas.
The News & Observer reported:
Search warrants made public Friday indicate that police found open containers of alcohol in the cars of both a wrong-way driver and the motorist he collided head-on with on Interstate 440 last month.
Detectives used the search warrant to recover airbag information from a data recorder in one of the cars involved in the crash, a 2008 Ford Focus.

Never drive in the left lane of a divided highway at night unless you can see tail lights of a car in that lane ahead of you. These kind of wrong way drunks are pretty common.
