Trending Politics: House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) has opened an investigation into possible collusion between the Biden Department of Justice and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on crafting the dubious “hush money” indictment of former President Donald Trump.
In a letter letter sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Jordan demanded documents and information concerning the Biden DOJ’s “politicized prosecution” of Trump. Jordan noted that Matthew Colangelo, a former senior DOJ official, is working as a lead prosecutor for Bragg on the case.
It also notes that the key testimony in the case is that of Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer who was convicted of tax evasion and perjury in matters unrelated to then-President Trump.
“Since last year, popularly elected prosecutors—who campaigned for office on the promise of prosecuting President Trump—engaged in an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority: the indictment of a former President of the United States and current leading candidate for that office,” Jordan wrote in a press release. more here
