Weekend talk shows have featured considerable discussion about the vote in the House on Friday, January 3, for speaker, a position currently held by Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana. The potential for chaos is very real.

As Republicans face an uncertain and precarious series of critical deadlines, party members are weighing in on what they believe should happen. The key dates in January are the 3rd, the 6th and the 20th. 

January 3rd is the day Congress reconvenes, at noon ET. At a little after 1 p.m. ET is when the vote to elect the Speaker of the House commences, according to Fox News. No other business can occur until that happens, and the number in the Republican conference is what has Republicans nervous.  more

The democrats will come out 100% against Johnson because they know that the Ukrainian gravy train GOP in Congress will want to sabotage Trump’s confirmation, leaving the speakership up in the air and the democrats and anti-Trump GOP will be able to make up some bullshit rule in the grey area left by the opening.

  2. Trump is worried that a replacement of Johnson might be worst, so he’s taking the Johnson chance. Too bad we don’t any good choices and have to always limp along with our fingers crossed.

  3. Just image what we could do if we controlled the WH, the Senate and the House of Representatives. Is it just me or does anyone else see the one great big glaring common denominator that surrounds all things fucked up? To me it is the Republican Party. Republican Party my ass.

    Spot on. Trump is looking at him relative to what the possibility of the Republican establishment saddling him with another Paul Ryan. They would and the bastards have been meeting in golf carts and bathhouses in and around DC the last few months conspiring on how to make that happen.

  5. Agreed Johnson inherited a mess.
    McCarthy (Boehner light) helped perpetuate the mess.
    Johnson continued to create a greater mess.
    Why Johnson deserves the speakership is beyond my understanding.
    I feel confident that the next to worthless RINOs in the House will sadly continue to vote to increase the mess, regardless of Trump’s agenda.

    If Trump is now starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel for Conservatives to hold political positions, I fear for our Country. The Republicans have had John Boehner, Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy and Mike Johnson and all were Democrats disguised as Republican’s
