Nation Headed Down Wrong Track Towards Rail Strike

construction drive

A rail strike would compound the supply chain woes that contractors have faced since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The AAR [Association of American Railroad’s] report said that builders could expect delays of raw materials including lumber from Canada used for home building and other construction projects.

Railroads have until Friday to reach an agreement with its two of the largest rail unions, the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers, Transportation Division and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen. More

Don’t worry though, the Biden administration is on top of this one. Here

  1. With Puddin Brain “Da What’s My Name” involved in this, there’s a good chance a strike will occur. If that happens, the RR personnel may drag this out for a couple of months until their demands are met. By the time it gets resolved, if it drags out, we may expect 15 – 30 percent increase in prices across the board on all products. Thank you very much Puddin Brain you asshole.

  2. @joe6pak: My son runs shortlines to the canners in the central valley here (CA). They run corn syrup for canning and other products. Product will rot at the cannery, canning goods (specifically for WalMart) won’t make it to the shelf. It’s not just rails that is being used to move product across the US, there’s other variables in place to get the product to the manufacturers first. He’s the front end of the process. BTW, we’re talking fruits, and especially tomato products. Farmers have already cut production – add that to shortages. I advise stocking up if you haven’t already. Son also says there’s shortages of plastic bottles for water/soft drinks.
