New Mexico: Former oil and gas chairman running for Congress to protect Second Amendment, secure border

FOX:

Claire Chase is running for Congress to turn New Mexico’s Second District red again.

The political newcomer and former New Mexico Oil and Gas Association chairman and mother of two told FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo that two major themes of her campaign are the Second Amendment and the border.

Chase said the border is the “No. 1 issue” in her district, which serves the southern half of New Mexico. Albuquerque, she added, was named one of the seven most dangerous cities in the U.S. and maybe, she pointed out, it’s because the cartel is living and operating there.

“I’m running to help President Trump build the wall, secure our border,” she said.

And when it comes to bearing arms, she said, protecting Second Amendment rights comes “at all costs.”

“That’s the way of life out here,” Chase explained.

Chase is running against Democratic Congresswoman Xochitl Torres Small who flipped the primarily Republican district in 2018. However, Chase believes it may have been a “fluke” that Republicans lost their seat and the party may have run a candidate that couldn’t get “across the finish line.” read more

Dan can’t you see that big green tree where the water’s runnin’ free and it’s waiting there for me and you.

  2. Wow. Claire Chase has recognized how vulnerable her democrat opponent is. Torrez-Small exposed herself by running as a moderate and then voting as a hard-core progressive.

Thanks to Schiff and Pelosi, they made contrasting the angry, bitter, do nothing, retain power at all costs democrats, easy pickings against a conservative who has the understanding, vision and ability to communicate that message to the electorate.

Claire Chase appears to have what it takes.

  3. Claire was a critic of President Trump during his campaign. She’s turned around now that he is wildly popular. I don’t trust her and will be voting for Yvette Herrell who supported President Trump from the git-go.

What Claire didn’t say is the “fluke” was that Torres-Small found a boat-load of uncounted ballots the morning after the election in her husband’s political stomping grounds that put her ahead of Yvette Herrell.

Claire said that Herrell “couldn’t get across the finish line”. That’s NOT true because Herrell won the election until those hidden ballots turned up. In those precincts around Las Cruces, Torres-Small won 62 percent of the votes, but she won 77 percent of the newly discovered ballots from the same precincts.

Claire may be pretty but she’s not entirely truthful.

Yeah, I’m angry that the D’s got away with this B.S. and angrier that Claire is bad-mouthing a fellow R who won and was robbed.
