Kind of a shame no GOP candidate. It looks like these two would spilt the lefty vote and a conservative may just be able to zip up the middle with a cheap campaign.

What the Fluke happened?
We have open primaries in California thanks to an initiative in 2010. I voted against it for the very reason you see here. Now we have races where the runoff totally excludes Republicans.
Conversely there are/will be races here where Dems are absent…not many, but still…
Having done work in LA County for these types of races I can say that the fact of the matter is the district she ran in is so liberal Republicans have no chance anyway. Sure one could run on a super-split ticket, but they would go nowhere in the general election even if every single Republican showed up…
