NBC Philadelphia– Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry has stopped paying his 2016 presidential campaign’s staff in the key early primary state of South Carolina, according to officials from the campaign.

“As the campaign moves along, tough decisions have to be made in respect to both monetary and time related resources,” said spokeswoman Lucy Nashed in a statement to NBC 5 Monday evening. “Governor Perry remains committed to competing in the early states and will continue to have a strong presence in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. The Governor is also looking forward to his trips to South Carolina this Thursday and to Iowa next week.”

Perry’s South Carolina campaign operation included six to seven paid employees  Those employees are now working on a volunteer basis, according to Perry Campaign State Chair Katon Dawson.

The Texas governor has faced flagging poll numbers in recent weeks. He was unable to poll high enough to be included on the main stage at last week’s much-watched Fox News GOP debate. Reports say Perry has also suffered from sluggish fundraising efforts.   more

  1. He’s toast-he’s too presumptuous, don’t care all that much for him but still, he’s running on a good & untouchable record and has a great life story.

The kicker is Graham, in it solely to split the non-Bush vote in SC-what a motherfucker. Same with Rubio in FL, both fucking tools.

  2. Meanwhile my Senator (LOL) Grahamnesty who is currently polling around ZERO has announced he’s planning to release the names of people on his SC Nat’l Security Council. Despite rumors to the contrary, it will not be called Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs.

  3. IF ONLY he would drop out NOW…
    along with

    Pataki
    Gilmore
    Graham
    Kasich
    Christie
    Santorum
    Huckabee
    Fiorina

But that’s not how the US Chamber of Congress plays….

  4. Czar I read Gilmore was the only one not invited to the next debate with CNN. So hopefully he’s out and I hope the losers you listed will start dropping like flies soon.

  5. How many of these are being paid by DNC and GOP Elite to run to dilute the Not-Jeb serious candidates? I’m sure Graham is one since he admitted during the “debate” that he is only in to bring attention to his desire to invade Iraq again.

  6. Claudia, sundance at conservative treehouse says it’s ALL divide-non-Jeb! and !Jeb!-conquer via Chamber of Commerce in the important states:

    Perry – TX
    Pataki – NY
    Gilmore – VA
    Rubio – FL
    Kasich – OH

    Sorry for the late response.
