Breitbart – Trump Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth is shoring up support from key Republican senators as a concerted smear campaign against him based on years-old allegations from anonymous sources has been disputed by many on-the-record.

On Wednesday, Sen. John Thune (R-SD), the incoming Senate Majority Leader, voiced support for Hegseth, according to a Washington Examiner journalist.

“I think he articulates a good vision, a strong vision for the Department of Defense, which I think is in need of some modernization and reform,” he said. “He’s obviously an experienced veteran, combat veteran, so he brings a lot of experience about what the warfighters’ needs are and how to keep America ready for the potential battles of the future.” more here

  3. We always have to deal with the RINOs as well as their friends the democrats. I think Trump and his team are quietly warning republicans who won the landslide and what will happen if they try to screw him over.

  5. Joni Ernst and Lindsey Graham are both rumored to be trouble makers for the Hegseth confirmation. They both voted for Lloyd Austin in 2021 to head the DOD. No good rinos are our enemies!

  7. I cannot fathom how any Republican senator would vote for Lloyd Austin and against Pete Hegseth. There is no possible argument that makes sense of that.
    Whatever happened with the guarantee of recess appointments? Happy to wait a couple of weeks for Senate to go home for Christmas, I mean Holidays, especially since he won’t actually take the position until January 20th.

  8. Speaking of Miss Lindsay, John Rich has got an interesting story. He was at a table sitting next to Trump, Lindsay was sitting across the table from him. Trump asked Rich “A direct question” which reach claims he answered honestly. And while Lindsay was swirling his Chardonnay with his pinky in the air called Rich a conspiracy theorists. Rich says he unloaded on him and Trump just sat there with a smile on his face. I’m not sure what Trump sees in that RINO POS.

  12. What in the f**king hell is wrong with Trump? All he has to do is stand up and tell all these jerks that his picks are set in stone, vote for them or f*ck off. Really, the man is such a jerk at times that I think he’s part of the problem rather than the solution.

  15. Public displays must mean the SEALS are retired and no longer involved in the operational side of things. I’m fine with the shorthand, but retired is not active. Makes for good headlines.

  17. Graham has been a controversial flip-flopper for years, so much so that he no long carries any credibility. I have no idea why Trump give him the time of day especially when Lindsey called him a Jackass to his face.
