Switzerland will mediate with North Korea. What should we ask for? – IOTW Report

Switzerland will mediate with North Korea. What should we ask for?

New Americana: North Korea has an arsenal of nuclear weapons. They’ve likely got a thermonuclear weapon, or at least an enhanced “atomic bomb” that can produce a yield of at least 100kt. The bomb that America exploded over Hiroshima was 15kt.

Putting this into perspective, a big chunk of America’s nuclear inventory is the W76 thermonuclear warhead, which has a yield of 100kt. The W76 weighs something less than 362 lbs, which is the combined weight of the warhead plus its re-entry vehicle. (Source.)

North Korea also has demonstrated the capability for an extended-range IRBM or possibly an ICBM. If the North Koreans can successfully fit their warhead into the re-entry package for their missile, that’s a credible threat. Of course, we don’t know if they can (assuredly, we know more than our government is telling, however) until they do it.

Kim Jong-un has repeatedly said his nuclear program is non-negotiable. We can assume this means the missile program is also non-negotiable. So what would the United States tell Switzerland to ask for in mediation?

  1. What do we ask for? How about peace in our time? Give me a frickin break. The Swiss, how did they get involved? Who in the hell can they influence? I read an interesting article at American Thinker that suggested we pull all our troops and assets out of South Korea and move everything to Taiwan. Remove us from storyline and see how quickly they want us back in.

  2. “remember, china is not our friend, and noko is a chinese proxy”

That’s true, but we are Chinas primary market. Let’s hope they’ve turned capitalistic enough that the light goes on pretty soon. “No Moe Yankee Dolla”. China is the most peaceful solution here. But it requires killing that Crazy Fat Kid.

  3. We’ll take a couple million starving Koreans in exchange for all those liberals who think socialism/communism is better than Competitive Free Market Capitalism. Just think, we could get rid of 20,000 ungrateful America hating millionaires, 75% of hypocritical billionaires, 99% of Hollywood, most the MSM, and a couple hundred thousand professors all in one month. Is that a good deal or what?

  4. China and Russia are neighbors of little kim and are the enabling puppet masters.
There’s more to this than N. Korea’s blackmailing the west for food, oil, energy and services. For the last 5 decades we’ve been paying protection money to the communist mafia to prop up their regime.
Now is the time to allow N. Korea to die on the vine.

  5. “Will give Lil Kim all the chocolate he wants.”

LOL. It’s no chocolate, it’s cheese. He eat so much cheese he developed some sort of severe allergy that can only be treated with steroids. There was an article not to long ago pondering if little fat boy was “Roiding Out”.

  6. By one definition, I’d like some cocoa. Before winter.

By another definition, I’d like North Korea to give up it’s nuclear arsenal. By allowing The American citizenry to have a single, preferably cumulative vote, national referendum on purely American locales to use as disposal targets. I mean sites.

Switzerland quit pretending to be a sovereign entity, and swore subservient allegiance to The United States Federal Reserve, decades ago.

“I’ll run this by my manager” only works when the manager hasn’t already told you “Hails no.”

  8. There is somebody other then Russia and China pushing him to be provocative and eager for war. I suggest it is Iran. Who else has more to gain if we get in to pissing match with this village idiot. He’s in hiding now because he thinks ST6 is following him around. For the whole world, put this kid where he can’t harm himself and others.
