Two top travel aides for Vice President Kamala Harris have decided to resign in the coming weeks. Karly Satkowiak, the director of advance, and Gabrielle DeFranceschi, the deputy director of advance, will depart, Harris’s office confirmed to the Washington Examiner.
The duo’s departures were long-planned, an unnamed spokeswoman for Harris told the Washington Examiner. Harris plans to visit Detroit next on Monday to encourage the city’s residents to get COVID-19 vaccinations.
According to the Washington Examiner, the advance department is in charge of preparing accommodations and venues and other related tasks in anticipation of the vide president’s arrival at a travel destination.
The administration has called for “advance associates,” unpaid volunteers who will help manage the vice president’s travel, the Washington Examiner reported. MORE
I’d be delighted for the opportunity to help prepare Kakamala’s venues and accommodations, but I fear we would disagree on destinations.
