Ugly Michigan-Ohio State brawl breaks out

NYP

It got ugly after Michigan’s win over Ohio State.

Moments after the Wolverines’ 13-10 win, the two teams got into a brawl near midfield after Michigan players tried to plant their flag on Ohio State’s logo on Saturday.

Multiple players could be seen going at it as security, police and team staff tried to separate them. more

  1. I watched the game and the ensuing hair-pulling. The funniest part was watching the cops willy-nilly spraying everyone with mace.

I blame the Michigan coach for all this. He knows his team is full of thugs, reprobates, and mental defectives. After the upset win, the team huddled on one side of the field with their fans for a few minutes of celebration. At that point, he should have gotten them off the field and into the locker room.

Planting your flag on the opposing team’s mid-field logo is the ultimate insult, I’m surprised serious bloodshed did not occur.

  2. I liked it. After beating Ohio State, at Ohio State, the perfect way to end it was to plant your flag at the 50 yard line! If Ohio State would have let them they would be a bunch of pussies! So a bunch of pushing and shoving started. It was a good ending! I’ll but the testosterone was raging in both locker rooms after that!

  3. In my opinion, it takes more courage to act with class than to try to show up someone else. Michigan had a great upset win against acknowledged rival Ohio State. After the game, celebrate with your team mates, acknowledge the fans who traveled to Ohio State, and get off the field. They beat Ohio State for the 4th time in a row, took the Buckeyes out of the Big 10 Ten championship game, and lowered Ohio State’s seeding in the playoffs – and did it at Ohio State’s home field. Now go home and celebrate further on your own turf.

Nothing pisses me off much more than athletes who celebrate with elaborate dances and celebrations that do nothing more than glorify the individual. I watch games where a defensive secondary gets torched repeatedly, but celebrate a meaningless interception when your team is down multiple scores. Or when a second string quarterback is sacked in the fourth quarter when the defense has given up 5 touchdowns at that point.

I get it – some things like scoring a touchdown are exhilarating. Spike the ball, hug your team mates, do the Lambeau leap, acknowledge the cheers – and then get off of the field. My favorite football players are the ones who do something good, give the ball to the referee, and briefly celebrate your accomplishment – but they also recognize that scoring or performing a good defensive play are their jobs; they are expected, and expect to do this. In my opinion, this separates the great from the merely good.

  4. Ohio State players shoulda stayed on the sidelines and just sent Ryan Day out there for a Buck Jones ass kickin after the fourth loss! I was surprised that OSU kept him after the third one!

  5. An unranked team goes into the house of the #2 ranked team in the country and beats them. They deserve the celebration at the end. OSU players were leaving the field but came back and started the mess. Security only pepper sprayed the Michigan athletes. Hail to the Victors. GO BLUE. Fuck OSU.

  6. Fighting after a football game has become a trend. It not only reflects a natural tendency of testosterone-fueled combat, but also, the result of another generation of undisciplined fatherless sons. Especially, true for black young men predominantly playing for college and NFL football teams.
Good fathers instill restraint, morality, sportsmanship and good judgement. None of that is honored in this woke culture which condones reactionary, barbaric, self serving behavior.

  7. Nope, it’s warrior mentality with the victors celebrating victory over the lesser opponent. Understandably the crybaby losers resisted creating an unnecessary show of force by U.N. style peace keepers. Fortunately no cheerleaders were sexually assaulted.

  8. Michigan did not “beat” Ohio State. Their offense did not even score a touchdown. They got the 6 because of a poorly thrown pass. On a side note, I don’t know how Ryan Day keeps his job after 4 in a row.

  9. Harry, thanks. Woke narrative has to be called out for what it is – a tactic of intimidation and manipulation. We don’t have to tolerate it. It can’t Trump the truth. Pun intended.
