Here’s a fight you don’t see in your driveway every day

This is strange… for a southern New Yorker.

  1. Yea well Moose and Elk are the lowest cholesterol red meat you will find. The tastiest steak I ever had was Elk and Moose is suppose to be better. If that were my drive way they might have both found themselves in my freezer.

  2. Moose are really dangerous. I visited a relative in Fairbanks. They carried
a .44 magnum, not for bear but for moose. I thought they were kidding. They
were serious. Moose are crazy dangerous animals.

  3. Any wild meat is much much much healthier than the steroid injected pen raised crap you can buy at Safeway. I try and only buy grass fed free range beef from local suppliers. And free range chicken for that matter. Not try to sound like a hippie but you can definitely notice a difference in the meat when you peel it off the grill.

  4. Fur, once my neighbor was late for work because she got sprayed by a skunk as she left our building. So we do have our wildlife mishaps in southern New York.

  5. @Bad_Brad: I live in the Sierras – the bucks come down to the lower elevations and go into rut right out my front door. I’ve got pics of them on my cell phone. It’s a challenge getting from the front door to the car sometimes if they’re around. The big boys go at it like the moose.
