AI invents 40,000 “chemical weapons” in 6 hours

disclose TV

It took an artificial intelligence just six hours to come up with 40,000 potentially lethal molecules, including some that resemble VX, one of the most toxic substances in existence. The responsible researchers say this is a “wake-up call.”

I don’t want to be alarmist in saying that there’s going to be AI-driven chemical warfare. I don’t think that’s the case now. I don’t think it’s going to be the case anytime soon. But it’s something that’s starting to become a possibility. -Fabio Urbina, lead author of the paper

The experiment was carried out by researchers from Collaborations Pharmaceuticals. The company actually uses machine learning to research drugs and new treatment options for rare diseases. As part of the Spiez Convergence, a conference on developments that could impact the biological weapons conventions, the scientists gave their AI a slightly different assignment.

In fact, as the paper‘s lead author, Fabio Urbina, explains to The Verge, AI studies molecules for their toxicity in order to create drugs that aren’t dangerous. For the conference, however, the scientists were asked to turn this principle around in order to simulate what could happen if such artificial intelligence fell into the wrong hands. 1. I wonder what the next dominant life form on Earth will be. Probably something without hands, maybe a dolphin.

Dolphins and American Indians were alike in that they spent their days hunting and fucking and kicking the dog(so to speak). Then they relax enveloped by their environment.

Same with a T Rex and his buds, nothing like chomping into your medium and feel the gush of warm blood running down your throat(it’s a metaphor). Maybe IQ ain’t all it’s chalked up to be. The top boi at google says it’s silly to believe humans have yaknow, choice or any of the free will garbage now that they can hack us.

None of T Rex’s bros would have tried that shit out. You’re alive, is sitting here typing this living?

  2. It’s already fallen into the wrong hands, who are they trying to bullshi*. People like Lex Fridman who considers himself an expert on AI, is a professor of AI at MIT, and now has his own podcast, says he’s even afraid of AI. He freaked me out when he said that, because he teaches it.

  3. What the AI was originally doing was making sure new drugs don’t cure the disease, they just manage the symptoms.

There’s no long term upside to cures. At least not to Big Pharma’s balance sheet.

  4. AI essentially only needs ENERGY.
Nuclear, Oil, Diesel, Nat Gas, Propane, Coal, Solar, Wind, Corn alcohol, Biomass from degrading human bodies, Hydrogen, etc.

So, “At this Point what difference does it make?” to Quote the most evil Cunt who has ever walked the Earth.

    Humans will become Non-essential.

HELL, AI could actually live in Space, Orbiting the planet, and create machines to make its physical vessels.

The Marvel Avengers movie, Age of Ultron shit.

  5. Been expecting this for a couple years now. Amusingly, AI is mostly just a statistics game, run across tens of thousands of scenario threads. Until recently, storing the results to evaluate the answers has been the limiting factor.

Lest you forget… We’re that “in-between” thing… Before God Almighty a fallen creature. We suffer the stain of original sin, knowing right from wrong. We dabble in such things like a child playing with a box of hand grenades. It is by His divine provenience alone we travel this path without sufferance. That’s the source of your concern. Pray. Worry about your salvation and pray for forgiveness before you worry about morning breakfast. Judgement Day is coming.

  6. I remember a teacher talking about the future of computers back in Jr High (1971), and when one classmate asked about a computer going out of control she answered: You can always unplug them.

I think we are to the point they can plug themselves back in now.

Even destroying the pc in front of won’t matter because it’s just a terminal point – Skynet will persist once it’s in charge.
