The Washington Post is reporting that officials in San Francisco took offense recently to the head of Housing and Urban Development, Ben Carson comments regarding men, claiming to be women, insisting on entering Women’s shelters in the city.
The issue is the purported use of the term “big, hairy men” in describing those who should not be allowed in the shelters designated for battered women. While Carson has declared the comments attributed to him are mischaracterized, he remained firm in his conviction that men don’t belong in spaces provided by women, no matter what their gender identity.
