Breitbart- Chicago’s Memorial Day weekend got a brutal start with 23 people shot and four killed from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening. And there are still two more days of the long holiday weekend to go.
Officials hastened to note that the numbers for the first hours of the three-day holiday weekend are on par with last year’s bloodletting, Chicago’s WGN TV reported.
But even as the statistics seem familiar, the carnage is happening amidst a major police offensive with the Chicago Police Department (CPD) sending 1,000 officers into the streets to tamp down the violence.
I pity the CPD officers, much like the Baltimore PD officers. Damned if you do….
Chicago, one of the cities controlled for decades by the left, shows the rest of us how to supervise and provide it citizens safety and a peaceful atmosphere in which to live. Their results are there for all to see, or if you prefer, to count.

As long as they shake the subjects down for “parking violations”, “improper bicycle lane use while bicycling”, “affronts to public health and sanitation while cooking outdoors”, “failure to genuflect deep enough when Obama is mentioned on somebody else’s car radio”, and similar offenses, “fines” sufficient to cover the overtime, administration of overtime, legislative discussion of overtime, value added tax, supervision of value added tax, privilege for being allowed to pay “fines” tax… and have a lil’ sumpin’ sumpin’ left over for “city beautification”, who could take issue with such Good™ governance.
Wasn’t it some lifetime Chicagoan who said “Never let a tragedy go to waste.”?
