ClockBoy Denied Defamation Suit

Wash Exam-

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by the father of a teenager who was arrested after bringing a homemade clock to school that was mistaken as a bomb.

The charges were against the city of Irving, Texas and Irving Independent School District and alleged Ahmed Mohamed’s civil rights were violated in September 2015 when police arrested him at MacArthur High School after he brought a homemade clock he had assembled from a circuit board to school to show his teachers.

Mohamed was suspended for three days but the charges against him were later dropped.

The federal lawsuit was filed by Mohamed’s father in August 2016.

According to the Dallas News, the city of Irving said in a statement Wednesday it is “extremely pleased by the court’s ruling, which supports the justifiable actions taken by the officers in the matter. We remain committed to ensuring the safety of all Irving residents and school children.”

  2. Brave judge. I would be afraid that Clock Boy would lie in wait for me with his homemade coffee maker that looks suspiciously like an assault rifle.
