Hillary Might Just Get Away With It – IOTW Report

Hillary Might Just Get Away With It

Rumors are swirling today that the Trump Administration may decide not to pursue Hillary Clinton over her e-mails or the Foundation.  Kellyanne Conway did not immediately swat down the potential pass to the Clintons when she appeared on Morning Joe, saying in effect that the president elect had more pressing issues right now.

Hot Air’s Jazz Shaw speculates that perhaps this “deep background” story is just a ploy to lull Obama and Hillary into complacency so that he doesn’t give her a blanket pardon as he leaves office.

  1. Trump doesn’t care about prosecuting Killary.

But that isn’t his job. AG can certainly pursue, FBI can continue its investigation, and Judicial Watch and other organizations have ongoing cases. Just because Trump has better things to focus on doesn’t mean the investigations will stop.

  2. First of all Hot AIr is nothing but Nevertrumping smug assholes and I could give a bag of dicks what they think. Maybe Trump knows her connection with Podesta, Alefantis and the rest of the Pizza and Hot Dog crowd will be her undoing so why not try and stem the protests and Anti-trump fervor.

  3. In some ways (non-judicial), Hillary did not get away with it.

She is not going to be President, this cost her the election.
The Clinton Crime Family Foundation has been exposed and losing funds.
She is now considered “untouchable” in the Democratic Party.
The Democratic Party is currently in disarray thanks to Hillary and her associates
Republicans control most of the state governments and all three branches of the federal government
    The list goes on

No, I’d say Hillary was exposed and the entire Country benefited for generations to come.

  4. “If Trump says he is going after her Obama will Pardon her, and probably himself.”

    This ^

Trump can say he isn’t prosecuting her all he wants. The President isn’t a prosecutor. The AG on the other hand. . .

  5. @J6pak, my understanding was that there were 5 different FBI offices investigating the Foundation, they could take their evidence to any of those state AG’s and I hope they go to all of them.

  6. The FBI has 5 investigations into the Clinton Foundation in different locations including Arkansas (the Foundation’s non profit status was granted for the libary ONLY. Non profit status is not transferable to other purposes) and the US District Attorney for the NY district is investigating.

I sincerely hope she is not allowed to skate – proving once again that there are 2 sets of laws and we’re not in the “I get to chose what laws I follow” group.

  7. He’s been hired to be the nation’s top law enforcement officer. He needs to do his damned job regardless of who is involved. If he doesn’t he’s no better than the POS we have now.

  8. Trump is playing 3D chess with Mr. Spock and the Progs are losing at checkers to the 3rd grader.
I imagine there are many countries world wide who were hosed by the beast, Haiti comes first to mind.
Now that she is indictable in the world court, it won’t be a nice cup of tea for her future.
Her best option is to die, eh?

  9. obama pardon is doubtful for a number of logical reasons ie implication of guilt, bad precedent, etc, so i believe the hot air theoretical is faulted

it seems premature for such an announcement, but i would not want to guess what’s in the thought process, but perhaps it’s as listingstarboard has stated, calm the anti-trump rhetoric, help focus path forward

what the doj does moving forward is wide open

  10. i am encouraged by all the other paths to prosecute this traitorous bitch that people have posted. Half her reason for running was to continue her crime syndicate unimpeded but she lost so start the procedings, and if the DOJ or others prosecute then i will be content.

    Never forget, Trumps got this.

  11. The “illuminati” never prosecute their own.
Once beyond good and evil, always beyond good and evil.
If she is subject to the Law, then all the corrupt-o-crats must be subject – and that will never be allowed.

    izlamo delenda est …

  12. One fell swoop by the federal authorities in the new administration can be to remove the Clinton cartel and all subgroups (Foundation, Global Initiative, etc.) from 501(c)(3) tax exemption. Having to go back and pay taxes worldwide on donations will slay the Beast. The nasty boys will find her, Slick, and Horsey Face and do the deeds. Trump doesn’t need to dirty himself with the Clintons any further.

  13. Remember, Nixon had this thing about breaking into offices to spy. He broke into his professor’s office as a law student to learn his final grade (3rd in his class, I believe – don’t know what he was worried about). He had his guys break into the Watergate Hotel to dig up stuff on McGovern who only won one state! Other than his obsession for illegally obtain intelligence data, Nixon was a good President, whether or not you agree with his policies on everything.

In comparison, Hillary Clinton makes Richard Nixon look like a saint.

  14. Hillary?

You people have no imagination. Consider. He already also said today that he is NOT taking prosecution off of the table.

I believe that much of this current fatwa that Trump has underway is against the ENTIRE Obama Administration, and it really took form when Obama famously dicked on Trump endlessly at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner in 2011.

His targets? Not just the Clinton’s, but every chuckling media whore there that night, and the Big Kahuna, Obama himself. Witness his setting of the table yesterday with all of our media oligarchs.

As we’ve seen over and over, DJT is a Big Picture guy. And he plays the long game.

  15. Tough Choice:

    — Chelsea is so unpleasant the DNC may not allocate her a safe House seat.

    — Prosecute Mom, give Chelsea a potent speech. The DNC could be forced to give her a seat.

I do not know how to value a trade-off like that.

  16. “Hot Air’s JJazz Shaw speculates that perhaps this “deep background” story is just a ploy to lull Obama and Hillary into complacency so that he doesn’t give her a blanket pardon as he leaves office.”

This is the FIRST TIME I’ve ever hoped Jazz Shaw was RIGHT.

  17. Hillary for Prison.
If Trump lets her off then the system is rigged.
Isn’t that what he ran against.
Let Sessions do his job. End of story.
Put an end to Clinton criminal behavior.

  18. Hellary is toast. The Clintons have more associates, government agencies willing to bring them down than they can count. Trump is shrewd. He knows she’s headed for jail one way or another and he doesn’t have to lift a finger against her. BTW, Trump not “hurting” the Hildebeast pacifies the clueless martini elitists who want to support him. We’ve got four, maybe eight years to make America great again – no need to panic and reveal all the strategies to defeat the left.

  19. Also there has been incredible pressure/threats against electors in Red states-the election isn’t exactly over until Dec. 19–so this way Trump can appease the rabid Hillary criminals. Reaching out to Romney is same deal–until he gets those electoral votes he has to make nice with all the enemies.

  20. He kept Hillary out of the White House.

He took the single thing she wanted in this life – it is HIS.

The profound anguish she is certainly drowning in is not to be regarded as her getting away with anything.

Trump took everything from her. Now the vultures will begin to circle and she will have no leverage. I do imagine that the shock from the loss, and from the complete 360 that her life is now compared to Nov. 7, will exacerbate her heath problems – which seemed to be significant.

Trump is President-elect. He has already destroyed Hillary.

  21. As I said before: If Trump goes after Hillary, he comes across as petty and vindictive, picking on that poor ole defeated woman after all she has been through. Hasn’t she suffered enough already? That will be the mantra of the Media and all the NeverTrumpers. This way he seems forgiving and magnanimous. DOJ and other agencies can fade the heat for prosecuting her or not. Trump’s revenge can be to simply let her and her Willie fade away into obscurity, pursued by anyone else willing to bring them to justice. Meanwhile, Trump the Great Reunifier will be about the business of restoring America.

Better than a Hollywood ending, huh?

    😉

  22. get it straight folks…Barry cannot pardon anyone if they have not been convicted of a crime. However, the lying crunt lost the election, the Foundation, her future with the party and the respect of the people she claimed to be the champion of. the court of public opinion has rendered their verdict, and it is a just one. She loses, we win.

  23. @Daryle Atkinson: OK, one more time:

Q: Can the president pardon someone who has not been convicted of anything?

A: Yes. Preemptive or anticipatory pardons are used on occasion, usually with the belief they are serving a national interest. Such a pardon was issued to President Richard Nixon by President Gerald Ford. The pardon covered all the offenses Nixon “committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974.” Another preemptive pardon was issued a few years later by President Jimmy Carter, absolving any person during the Vietnam era that “violated the Military Selective Service Act by draft-evasion acts.”

  24. Relax guys. Hysteria over the Trump election continued. Riots still continued, people still hurt.
In this toxic, divisive environment it would be NOT WISE vocally go after Clintons, and Trump “First 100 Days” media will not report and will report only vindictive move toward Clinton. Remember, FBI still continued to investigate Clinton Foundation.
Trust in Trump, he knows what he is doing.

  25. Trump just wants to shut the rioting snowflakes up. So he offers up a bone. One way is to say, “Hey, she had a rough campaign and is near death, I’d be a monster if I didn’t at least try to help her out after her loss.” He didn’t say he was gonna give her his presidency. So just chill the fuck out. She’s not going anywhere politically. He’s got really big fish to fry and Hillary ain’t one of them. Leave her to the DOJ.

I made a promise to you – that I would hold the Trump Administration accountable. I give credit when credit is due – and criticize when it is warranted.
So you can imagine my surprise when Donald Trump said he will not pursue a criminal investigation against Hillary Clinton.
I refer you to a promise Trump made to voters in October:
“If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation because there has never been so many lies, so much deception.”
So “Crooked Hillary” and “Lock Her Up” were just examples of campaign rhetoric?
Let’s hope there are not more campaign promises that turn out to be “campaign rhetoric.”
