HUNTINGTON, New York, January 24, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – A successful business co-founded by a young man with Down syndrome to make people happy is attracting more attention after a video was posted online recently that told its uplifting story.
The media had paid some attention to John’s Crazy Socks since its December 2016 founding, but a BBC News video on Facebook showcasing the company’s story has some 24 million views since it was posted January 15.
“Down syndrome never holds me back,” 21-year-old John Cronin says in the video. “We’re spreading happiness through socks.” MORE
So apparently we need to stop treating them like they are different they are not.
They just look odd.
Soon we will have doctors and lawyers that’s terrific
This kid’s smarter than most leftists.
Just goes to show, you can’t keep a good man down.
I never met a person with Down syndrome who was not happy and a joy to be around
I went to a funeral a few years ago for a 40 year-old with Down’s who had died unexpectedly in his sleep. I had known the family for many years, 5 kids including him. One of the most loving families I have known – every one of them – and I think that having this brother who needed their constant support had a tremendous positive effect on the others.
The man was the #2 child. I learned at his funeral, to my surprise, that he and the eldest had a different father than the younger ones. Their dad left after he was born. The second husband, the dad I knew, was a great dad to every one of the kids. Wonderful family, but made better by Justin’s presence.
Truly disabled people are the ones that work the hardest at not being disabled.
Builds a business and I love the socks. Doesn’t ask for other people or the gubermint to support him. Takes pride in hard work. What’s not to love?
