North Carolina: Drunk woman harasses people, loses Job, now she’s missing

Last Friday, Susan Jane Westwood, of Charlotte, NC rudely confronted two black women who were waiting outside their apartment for AAA to jump their stalled vehicle. Obviously drunk and suspecting the black women did not belong in her neighborhood, Westwood berated and threatened the two women long enough for it all to be caught on their cell phones. Both parties called police to intervene, with Westwood accusing her neighbors of faking a breakdown so they could rob apartments in her development.

After the video went viral, Westwood was fired by her employer, Spectrum and now faces numerous charges by police for misusing 911, simple assault and communicating a threat. If only they could find her, Westwood has gone missing. More

I hope they find her. Not to charge her with a crime, though they certainly should, but to make sure she’s still alive after this video went public and was widely reported by the media. – Dr. Tar

  1. I’ve been stopped numerous times by people in distress. Whether they need a jump, ran out of gas or money, lost their wallet, just need a couple more dollars for a bus/train ticket, etc.

There’s always a common theme among these individuals.

  2. She was drunk, OK that’s a no no but isn’t that a bit of an over reaction? I hope she’s OK.
I don’t think people should be harassed but why were they there? Who knows what the truth is.

  3. Being rude and obnoxious shouldn’t be a crime. The ability to record and put any interaction on the internet is deteriorating our ability to interact with each other and use social means to control bad behavior.

  4. I’ve been approached at the same stop light two or three days in a row by the same guy who needs jumper cables for a broken down car thats a few blocks away, after I tell him I don’t have any he then settles for money for the bus to another town. Bells are going off about a motive??? Safety tip #481: Live longer and never succumb to foolish “good Samaritan” impulses.

  6. @Old_Oaks: I’m asked on a daily bases for money because someone ran out of gas. My standard reply is, “You need to stay out of this town, everyone runs out of gas here and I don’t carry any money with me.” I do carry pepper spray and have it ready for the defense.
