Oregon votes to change the lyrics of its state song because they are racist

The “Land of the Empire Builders, Land of the Golden West; Conquered and held by free men, Fairest and the Best,” has become “Land of Majestic Mountains, Land of the Great Northwest, Forests and rolling rivers, Grandest and the best.”

The line “Blest by the blood of martyrs,” was changed to “Blessed by the love of freedom.”

Not seeing the racism, but what do I know? I don’t look at the world through the lens of a mentally ill person.

  1. It’s disgusting. It’s disgusting like those little evil muslim shits in grade school who had chits to sit out for The Pledge of Allegiance. It’s disgusting like that nasty evil shit who complained that our motor pool placed U.S. Flag stickers on all of our vehicles within weeks after 9-11.

They are despicable, evil, scumbags. And yes it starts with simple, seemingly innocuous, shit like that.

  2. Well, there sure aren’t any empire builders there…. But there sure are mountains! I like the change. The old version gave Oregonians too much credit they don’t deserve. Those forests and rivers really are something to brag about, unlike the people…
