HSA: LOS ANGELES >> Anton Yelchin, a rising actor best known for playing Chekov in the new “Star Trek” films, was killed by his own car as it rolled backward down his driveway early today, police and his publicist said.
The car pinned Yelchin, 27, against a brick mailbox pillar and a security fence at his home in Studio City, according to Los Angeles police Officer Jenny Hosier. MORE
Darwin strikes again. What a brain surgeon.
You’d think that a guy who can help fly the U.S.S. Enterprise, he would have had the sense to put on the e-brake.
I’m not sure I’m buying that story. Getting run over is not unusual, but getting pinned by a car rolling in reverse leads me to believe someone was inside the car.
Maybe an investigation is called for. But this is a sad event involving someone so young. 🙁
Ann, Odds are he was a liberal. Boo fucking Hoo.
Sad,
Bad_Brad living up to his name, as usual.
One news story I read stated the model of Grand Cherokee involved in this incident has been recalled in the past due to the vehicles slipping out of gear.
The sound was off but at the Y this morning the news headline for this story said there may have been an issue with the shifter, as in some sort of recall or design flaw for that vehicle.
it must not have been in the script to get out of the way.
script readers are such brilliant people, I know because they are always on tv telling me how brilliant they are and how I need to follow what they say.
I may not be a genuis on a blog but I did play one on tv.
“Keptin, sensors have detected approaching enemy wessel!”
“Lt. Hadley report to Navigation Station. Captain Kirk out.”
Skynet finally got him.
Must’ve been wearing a red uniform that day.
My wife routinely scowls at me when getting behind the wheel, because if I’ve driven her truck last the parking brake has been set. Just like every time I leave any vehicle I’ve driven.
A brake mechanic told me years ago this is the key to increasing brake life, obviously it can also prevent other misfortunes.
My sympathy to this young man’s loved ones.
B_B,
Even if he was a Libtard, I never heard him on any broadcasts spouting off about his political opinions. Nor did I ever hear from him, how we, the Little People, must acknowledge and obey his Munificence. Which is all a plus in my opinion.
Ouch!
auto-erratic assassination??
Sometimes, all it takes is one moment of thoughtlessness to bring it all crashing to an end. Poor dumb bastard.
“…there may have been an issue with the shifter, as in some sort of recall or design flaw for that vehicle.”
If it was a Toyota or VW instead of a Government Motors vehicle, the MSM would already have exploded diagrams of the transmission up every twenty minutes on TV.
Gosh. No one intends to make a stupid mistake that is fatal. And once you do… it’s already too late!
Perhaps we can all safely criticize this man’s alleged stupidity only because none of us has been as similarly stupid up until now?
I am not surprised that it was a Chrysler (government motors) car.
