Nation’s Restaruant News
EYM Pizza L.P., a Pizza Hut franchisee that filed for bankruptcy in July, is selling all 127 of its stores in Illinois, Indiana, Georgia, South Carolina, and Wisconsin, as part of a financial restructuring process.
EYM engaged M&A advisory and brokerage firm National Franchise Sales to facilitate the sale, including assistance in the asset recovery process to maximize recovery for creditors. EYM’s bankruptcy filing listed two creditors: Manufacturers Bank, which it owes more than $21 million, and Pizza Hut itself, which is owed just under $2.25 million. More
Pizza Hut – the only company to ever come up with 2,875,392 different things to do with pizza dough…none of them great.
They opened a Pizza Hut in my town about five years ago, and at first I was pretty stoked about it. Then I actually ate what passes for pizza at Pizza Hut these days. I never would have thought that someone could fuck up a pizza worse than Dominos, but apparently, I was wrong.
The people who loaned Pizza Hut money must never have tried the product.
All they had to do was change up their recipes and make decent pizza and other pastas about 20 years ago and everything would have been fine.
We Love Bidenomics.
(Kackle,Kackle)
… an economy only a Jackass could love!
Pizza – $2 for the cost of ingredients for a large pizza pie that sells for $15.
Pizza Hut may not be missed, but isn’t it a victim of Bidenomics? Without out of control inflation, Pizza Hut may have survived and eventually forced to learn to make good pizza or fade away like any other mediocre restaurant brand.
Tsquared – now add in the building and other overhead and labor. Not lots of profit in fast food…especially these days.
That list of locations also beas resemblance to voting irregularity hot spots.
Not sayin’ it was aliens, but…
Always thought, and still do think, the best part of a ‘Pizza Hut’ pizza is the cardboard box it came in.
Now that you mention it, I haven’t noticed any annoying “Nobody out pizzas the Hut” commercials lately.
Years ago I liked Pizza Hut, they haven’t been fit to eat though in years. They honestly deserve this and I wish they would sell the ones in my area. I say that because long after covid bullshit they were still not allowing any indoor dining, only pickup or delivery. It was only about a year ago they finally opened them back up for indoor dining and now the two within 40 minutes of me still look like they aren’t open. Never any cars out front.
Last time I ate one was 1988.
This is tough crowd. I worked at Pizza Hut for nearly 20 years. Left in 2003. I loved the product. We used to make our dough daily and I will admit the quality went downhill when they introduced frozen dough.
Like the pizza or not (I do) Pizza Hut is an American icon, and these Commie morons have killed it too!
Heatsync – Someone opened a Pizza Hut in my town too. It lasted about 10 years. I never saw cause to go there. Plenty of good pizza made by locals restaurants.
The McDonalds on the other hand is thriving. There are always cars lined up in the drive thru in the morning.
@Dr Tar
If they had only introduced breakfast pizza!
@Jethro — Ooh, I like that idea! Sausage/bacon, egg, and cheese pizza with maple syrup flavored crust. Mmmmm.
To be clear – it’s not Pizza Hut that’s bankrupt. It’s a franchisee that owns 127 stores.
Pizza Hut could save itself yet by offering a real Hawaiian Pizza. Never mind the ham and pineapple, put some chunks of Spam on it along with some shredded coconut. And change the decor of the restaurants by making them look like Tiki bars with fake palms and hula music.
Make the folks think they’re in a Hawaiian tropical paradise instead of Peoria Illinois for an hour or two.
