Nation’s Restaruant News

EYM Pizza L.P., a Pizza Hut franchisee that filed for bankruptcy in July, is selling all 127 of its stores in Illinois, Indiana, Georgia, South Carolina, and Wisconsin, as part of a financial restructuring process.

EYM engaged M&A advisory and brokerage firm National Franchise Sales to facilitate the sale, including assistance in the asset recovery process to maximize recovery for creditors. EYM’s bankruptcy filing listed two creditors: Manufacturers Bank, which it owes more than $21 million, and Pizza Hut itself, which is owed just under $2.25 million. More

  1. They opened a Pizza Hut in my town about five years ago, and at first I was pretty stoked about it. Then I actually ate what passes for pizza at Pizza Hut these days. I never would have thought that someone could fuck up a pizza worse than Dominos, but apparently, I was wrong.

  2. Pizza Hut may not be missed, but isn’t it a victim of Bidenomics? Without out of control inflation, Pizza Hut may have survived and eventually forced to learn to make good pizza or fade away like any other mediocre restaurant brand.

  3. Years ago I liked Pizza Hut, they haven’t been fit to eat though in years. They honestly deserve this and I wish they would sell the ones in my area. I say that because long after covid bullshit they were still not allowing any indoor dining, only pickup or delivery. It was only about a year ago they finally opened them back up for indoor dining and now the two within 40 minutes of me still look like they aren’t open. Never any cars out front.

  4. This is tough crowd. I worked at Pizza Hut for nearly 20 years. Left in 2003. I loved the product. We used to make our dough daily and I will admit the quality went downhill when they introduced frozen dough.

  5. Heatsync – Someone opened a Pizza Hut in my town too. It lasted about 10 years. I never saw cause to go there. Plenty of good pizza made by locals restaurants.

The McDonalds on the other hand is thriving. There are always cars lined up in the drive thru in the morning.

  6. Pizza Hut could save itself yet by offering a real Hawaiian Pizza. Never mind the ham and pineapple, put some chunks of Spam on it along with some shredded coconut. And change the decor of the restaurants by making them look like Tiki bars with fake palms and hula music.

Make the folks think they’re in a Hawaiian tropical paradise instead of Peoria Illinois for an hour or two.
