Border Patrol Fired on by Suspected Cartel Gunmen

RedState

Things are tense on the Southern border as the Trump administration ramps up its efforts to secure the border and end the influx of illegal immigration that was such a prevalent feature of the Biden years.

Shortly after being sworn into office, President Donald Trump signed executive orders declaring a national emergency at the Southern border and designating cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

The cartels, for their part, appear intent on acting the part, as Fox News’ Bill Melugin is now reporting that suspected cartel gunmen fired on Border Patrol agents near Fronton, Texas, on Monday, as a group of illegal aliens were being brought across the Rio Grande. more here

  1. …Border Patrol agents near Fronton, TX were fired upon from MX…

Air strikes, Apache gunships, M230 chainguns (625 .30 cal. rounds/minute)
A few counterstrikes would be a hell of a deterrent, don’t you think?

They tried to decommission them a few years ago but they are still expected to fly into the 2030s. They still fly daily maneuvers over my office in Middle River, MD.
This is a perfect job for these awesome flying machine gun cannons!

  3. Figured this was coming. It’ll escalate. Heavy duty military action will be required to control the border / cartels. Mexican military and officials are compromised and most fear the cartels. They won’t stop without extreme force. They are a highly organized business and high stakes are involved. There are already established major drug / human trafficking routes through most southern states. Gonna be a big nasty job. These folks are brutal.

  4. Rather than begin a debate about which is better for this job, the A-10’s Vulcan or the Apache’s M230 (both are marvelous, simply MAAAHvelous, dahling!), I’ll just type one word.

    Napalm

  5. Al, O.K. You can keep your man card, but we’re watching you. LOL

We build a lot of air frame parts for the Hog. Best run program in the military. Crystal clear documentation.

  6. I’m thinking SpecOps on infiltration and night ops. Infil, silent ops, exfil. Let the cartels figure out the damage the next day, be it an excess of corpses, or burning buildings. Lather, rinse, repeat.

  7. Time for some fly-overs by a few AC-130J Ghostriders. Lay down a field of fire with a bullet every 3 square inches as wide as a football field for a few miles will solve that problem.

Everything they come up with as a reason to replace them is driven by self interest. They have been stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station for most of my life.
