PJM: California Democrats are so concerned the campaign to oust Governor Gavin Newsom may work that they’re going straight to the political tricknology playbook we saw in the November election and scheming to defeat the recall by nearly any means necessary. The Sacramento Bee reports there are several ways they’re considering putting a monkey wrench into the works.
The recall movement has amassed 1.7 million signatures and is on track to turn in as many as two million signatures on deadline day, March 10th.
Politico reports that getting Democrats to close ranks behind Newsom is a tough sell.
“Every credible leader should be speaking out loudly and forcefully — now,’’ said state Sen. Steve Glazer (D-Orinda), a former senior adviser to [Democrat] Gov. Jerry Brown.
The message must be “about why even unhappy Californians should not sign these poisonous petitions,” he said in an interview. “Our collective action should be all about reducing signatures that would create this political chaos.”
Good luck with that whole “poisonous petition” sales job. Recall supporter, Tom Del Beccaro, who’s the former GOP head in California, says 30% of the recall supporters are Democrats. MORE
If he does get recalled, who would be most likely to defeat and replace him and how would his or her policies differ from Newsom’s?

Isn’t signing a recall petition the same as storming the Capitol to disrupt the lawful function of government? The intent is the same – to unseat the lawfully elected executive. Newsome should call up the National Guard and throw up a security perimeter around the Capitol. Arrest all legislators who spoke out in favor of recall on charges of inciting domestic terrorism. Investigate and charge everyone who signed the petition with hate speech.

When I first heard of the recall I knew that Newsom would not have to worry. After all, he is a democrat, and California is a single party state with the democrats in full control. They already have enough votes stored up to defeat the recall, even without the democrats having to resort to other forms of cheating.
^^^ I agree that the fix is probably in. This is posturing to disseminate the idea that the may actually be in question and that he may get recalled. It’s a dog-faced pony-soldier show to fool the peasants into thinking they may actually have a voice.
If he does get recalled, the Californians will certainly vote in another idiot just like him.

I’ve been reading about this coming my whole life. I’m 75 now and nothing I’ve seen even comes close to what I’ve read that what is going on now in the world with our churches falling about with the wearing of the masks, etc. People either believe enough that this supposed pandemic is bad enough that they are scared to death to even put up a good fight. I’ve not worn a mask and have openly opposed them since day one. Not a lot of pushback here in Texas, yet, but it’s coming. I may be one of the first ones out of here.

I’m truly amazed at how a man who looks and talks like every slimy, crooked televangelist you’ve ever seen on TV has this much support from Democrats.
I think we should return the favor to ho-wood. Everbody in the U.S. especially us here in Ga. request mail in ballots and vote for a conservative. I’m requesting about 200 ballots(big family) to mail back.
I sadly reside in CA. I have watched as leader after leader takes in down. They don’t care because they are royalty, it does not personally effect them. Surprising how the people just listen to every new rule. What ever happened to the CA i grew up hearing about? Free thinkers, not blind rule followers. Bah, bah, said the loud sheep herd. Wake up!
