CNN’s Mary Katharine Ham: I’m Bothered By Suggestion That Ryan Owens’ Widow Was ‘Only a Political Prop’

Breitbart: Wednesday on CNN’s “Inside Politics,” network contributor Mary Katharine Ham said as a recent widow she was “bothered” by those claiming the widow of Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens, Carryn Owens, was “only a political prop” at President Donald Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress Tuesday night.

Ham said “I don’t know Mrs. Owens but I was bothered by the suggestion that she was only a political prop or she was only exploited. And it seemed to take away the agency from this obviously very tough woman. I know many families of the fallen. I know she and her family know the price of freedom more than I ever will. I was also widowed in 2015. He was not military, but I have two young children. She was there of her own volition.”  more here

  1. Today’s democrats are horrible people. They will stop at nothing.
They have no souls. Fucking zombies.
I love to play that Bob Hope clip about zombies. Try it, you’ll like it.
    Bob Hope on zombies, youtube.

  2. Remember this every November.

The needs to be looped till the end, along with people jumping out of windows.

We need to celebrate November as Democrat Douchebaggery Month.

  3. I hate to say this, but there’s people on the Right who would make similar remarks if the situation were reversed – yes, even some individuals who have commented here on IOTWR in the past. That doesn’t make it right, of course – it’s totally wrong – but it does mean that we should all think for a moment about the effect our words will have before we make intemperate or insensitive statements.

  4. Politicians DO use people as political props.
This isn’t cynicism, but practicality: examples of selflessness help us to give more of ourselves to issues perceived as greater than ourselves – not (necessarily) a bad thing.

A lot of people can’t understand policies or philosophies but react strongly to emotional displays. This is one of the foundations of the socialist mindset (hence; slogans, chanting, and the omnipresent “l’il chillens”). And the socialists are simply angry that President Trump is more effective than they strive to be. Mostly because the socialists tend to treacly, false-flag
    bullshit, instead of substance.

    izlamo delenda est …

  5. Obama’s use would be a prop when considering his ROE, gutting the military and arming our enemies. Hornets nest? Obama helped build that! Trump is the exterminator who truly loves the US military and honors those willing to risk their lives to rid the world of this pestilence.
