Connecticut: Pastor Quits After Video Shows Her Yelling At Police For Arresting Alleged Felon In Church

Daily Caller: A Connecticut pastor resigned Thursday after berating police officers for arresting a man who took refuge inside the church after beating his mother.

Rev. Care Goodstal Spinks obstructed a police car Tuesday and tried to force East Haven police officer to release Ryan Champlin, whom they arrested in Old Stone Church for attacking his mother and beating her head with a phone until the device broke, according to The Maven. Church leadership thanked police officers for their swift and calm actions and announced Thursday via Facebook that Spinks resigned in light of her actions and her differences with the wider congregation.

“The behavior and language on video by the Intentional Interim Pastor, do not necessarily express the opinions of the wider congregation. We have accepted a letter of resignation from the interim pastor -effective immediately,” the church’s Facebook post read.

“We want to thank the East Haven Police Department, including Lt. Murgo, for their calm yet swift actions on Tuesday,
all while keeping in mind that school was in session, and the safety of students and staff was top priority,” the post added.  more here

  1. This is why I would never ever, EVER attend a church that would hire a female pastor. And I am female. Only libtarded churches hire women pastors and all women pastors are infected with moonbattery. This one looks like a dyke, too.

  2. Couldn’t watch through because reasons. I skipped around and was looking for a meltdown but it was the same as being drowned in whipped cream; a cloying, sickening sameness.
She acted like she was talking to a large child. She stated that police violated ‘the law’ by going into the church.
And who are the two simpering stooges at the ready? Didn’t they have a Cracker Barrel to go to?

  3. Welcome to Corrupticut folks, my home state. There must be something in the public water supply that turns the city dwellers into Lib-Tard idiots. Thank God I live in the sticks and have my own well.

  4. While out of town one weekend we decided to attend an historic church there. Both of the head ministers were women and one of them was obviously lesbian. They seemed to have a thriving congregation and they were kind to show us around their church (we were especially interested because we were then restoring another historic church). But there were a few things we noticed right off: The sermon had nothing to do with scripture and instead an ersatz lecture on environmentalism. Very queer, indeed.

Women preaching in the Christian church is a hotly debated topic, but Christians who know scripture at all know that women may not be the spiritual teachers of men in the church. I would never belong to a church that crosses this doctrinal line, let alone promote a lesbian woman to that post.

  5. United Church of Christ is a very liberal church with s pastors and congregations cultivating a culture contrary to the Bible.

The UCC has no rigid formulation of doctrine or attachment to creeds or structures. Whatever feels good, do it.

  6. I had this same “women as pastors” talk with my mom just last night. She is in an assisted living home and one of the residents is a women who used to be a pastor. Mom said she talks about loving people and spouting crap about being tolerant. She goes around hugging other women and trying to kiss them. Mom said that if she ever tried that on her she would slap her. I said, “You go, Mom!”

  7. Cato — Yes, I read a lot of history about the UCC and how it broke from the Mainline back in the 1800’s. It’s an interesting bit of American church history. I can’t remember all the players now, but it comes down to two or three players who were every bit as goofed up as Smith and his Mormons.

  8. This so called pastor is an imbecile. There is no legal protection that forbids the federal or local police from effecting an arrest inside a church. She is a liar. That is a phony lore. If a man went inside her lesbian church and began hurling dog feces at her and calling her a dyke, would the man be immune from arrest and allowed to continue because he has “sanctuary” in the church? Nope… this is just made up babble. Think of any crime or criminal she didnt like, coming into her church and hiding out, say a gay basher or kkk’er, and the Police telling this old dish rag “you have to keep him in there, we cant come in and get him”, and what a different tune she would be singing. Bottom line, Police have legal authority to arrest him, no law exists that extends legal immunity to a church building.

  9. Dumb cop arguing with dumb liberal.

10 minute waste of time. This isn’t the 1600s of church sanctuary fantasy. The police can follow a fleeing suspect into any building in America.

Dummies seem to have plenty of time after-the-fact to stand around and nag each other. Neither one has the courage to just walk away knowing the issue is over and nothing will change it.
