Arizona’s Department of Corrections has a new proposal in its “Execution Procedures” manual that instructs the families of those awaiting their appointment with eternity to bring their own execution drugs for their loved one. This is being suggested because pharmaceutical companies are unwilling to provide the most common used drugs for lethal injections to states that have the death penalty.
A few other states are considering or have already approved more traditional forms of execution because of the same difficult in acquiring the preferred execution drugs.
Less than a buck a bullet. Cheap and efficient.
Rope can be found at just about any hardware store. Plus, it can be recycled and used again.
I’d imagine the anti-death penalty people will reconsider their opposition to lethal injection when other proven and more traditional methods are implemented for dispatching those worthy of execution.
That’s crazy. What family member would be willing to do this? Is this fake news or what? A civilian would not be able to get the analgesics/anesthetics that would be required. Even if they were willing….did some stupid politician come up with this dumb idea? ACLU complains it’s inhumane…..it’s used in surgery thousands of times a day. Stupid.
Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Probably the ACLU behind this. Use veterinary grade euthanasia.
Family brings drugs – not gonna happen. Executioner scores heroin OD on street corner for execution – more likely.
How about twenty feet of rope? Cheap and reusable. Worked for a long time.
Sorry Big Gun.
I’d tweak that to: The victim’s family gets to bring the drugs but the murderer’s family has to pay the bill.
So, if the victim’s family show’s up with a bottle of bleach and that has to be injected to the murderer the murderer’s family has to pay for the bleach.
An obvious ploy by the left for present a false moral equivalency to capital punishment here and in communist China.
Physiologically, high explosives is by far the most humane death and better than most on death row deserve. The pressure wave that tears the body and brain apart travels much, much faster than signals though the neural pain tracts.
Tannerite isn’t very expensive.
Fentanyl. It’s working wonders on long time and periodic users.
.45 ACP – 50 cent solution
@JustAl – det cord sweat band?
I bet Utah Prisons has some .30-30 rounds left over after they executed their last murderer; they might share with their neighbor to the south.
A host of great recommendations here.
I say lets put some of the muzzie aliens to works. A sharpened scimitar and a screamed “allah akbar” and it’s done.
Uncle Al….very nice! How about a neck wrap and televise it to the music “pop goes the weasel”
Syringe filled with nothing but air.
From what I understand 60 to 100 ml into the arterial system should do the trick. If not enough, attach the needle to a air pump.
Air costs nothing, you can get a cheap, but adequate, air pump for less than $15.
@Taxpayer: No sweat, glad I’m not alone. 😉
Amazing, we possess the ability to send man to the moon, yet struggle on how to humanely take a murderers life.
That’s an idea, send them to the moon or man’s first attempt to colonize Mars. That’s what Britain did, sent debtors, criminals and undesirables to the Colonies that became the US and Australia.
A couple tablespoonfuls of vegetable oil aught to do it.
Breathing pure nitrogen is very effective and humane. Plus, it’s cheap.
Maybe John McStain can just drop a duece in the execution chamber.
A lethal dose of lead would work and I’m sure that Winchester or Remington Peters has no ethical qualms about the way their product is being used.
Alcohol’s a poison, right? I’d tell my family to bring a couple of cases of Crown Royal, maybe even a bottle for the warden. Might take a couple of days, but at least I wouldn’t suffer too much.
🙂
If I had to execute myself it would be with a bullet. It’s fast and efficient.
Probably a a .32 or a lot messier a .357 mag.
Execution should be two to the back of the head small caliber or one .357 mag.
It’s quick and painless.
Now if you want to have some fun have people hunt the guy on an island.
The old soviets were the masters
of the execution. They called it
“getting 9 grams”. That was the
weight of the bullet that they
shot into the back of a million+
brains.
California, Colorado, Montana, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington have legalized assisted suicide. Not making this up. http://euthanasia.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=000132
Might also be called assisted very very very (at least 18 years’) late tern abortion/s
Zonga makes a great point; no problem getting “suicide drugs” in above listed States, but ya can’t get “execution drugs” in Arizona? Sumpin’s wrong here.
A new twist- How about letting the families of the murder victims choose the method of execution?
Cruel and unusual punishment does not apply to executions!
Push them out the read door of a C-130 at 10,000 feet. You could take care of a whole Death Row in one flight.
Rear door. Damn fat fingers.
