Feds Going After Those Who Employ Illegals

In just the last year alone, the number of investigations and arrest of employers who break the law by hiring illegal aliens has gone up dramatically.

“In fiscal year 2018, HSI [Homeland Security Investigations] opened 6,848 worksite investigations compared to 1,691 in FY17; initiated 5,981 I-9 audits compared to 1,360; and made 779 criminal and 1,525 administrative worksite-related arrests compared to 139 and 172, respectively; all of these categories surged by 300 to 750 percent over the previous fiscal year.” More

  1. Start throwing some of them in jail and the use of illegals will start to drop dramatically. Throw a few large corp CEO’s in the slam and I suspect the local unemployment rates drop and the average wage rises. The other upside is that when they’re released they (unlike a deported illegal) is unlikely to break the law again.

  2. Arresting big time employers that are political donors, too? Dems will skate and Repubs will fry? Seeing is believing. Same goes for really stopping illegals at the border. Yet to see that!

  3. Dry up the feed trough, choke off the gravy train. Isn’t this we have been clamoring for? No jobs. No government handouts.

It’s like an exterminator solution to common pests. Take away the food source and pests go elsewhere.

Not that I am equating illegal invaders to cockroaches…

Who am I kidding? Of course I am.

  4. My 2 cents, and I have stated this before; if there was no financial benefit in crossing the border illegally, no-one would…..

  5. A good buddy is a regionl manager at McDonald’s so I have to believe him when he says that some DACA (dreamers) have papers to allow them to work legally in the U.S., many of the other illegals use a SSN they get somewhere. Eventually that number gets back to the employer as having problems, but it takes awhile. He talks to the employee and the next day they don’t show up for work anymore.

  6. If employers are given the wherewithal to weed out the illegal-alien invaders and to shield them from “discrimination” lawsuits – all well and good.

But – BUT – employers have no business doing what the gov’t is unwilling to do.

Border control (rightly) rests with the Executive – not with some schlub who needs his beans picked. This is more finger-pointing and blame-gaming, rather than solving the problem of illegal-invaders. I can’t very well blame my chickens if mice get into their house and eat their scratch-grain, now can I?

Just an aside: eliminate welfare and there won’t be any “jobs that Americans won’t do.”
