Fusion GPS Takes The 5th

Co-founder Peter Fritsch and top lieutenant Thomas Catan, of the sleazy research firm behind the infamously fake Russian Dossier, Fusion GPS, were subpoenaed to appear before the House Intelligence Committee this week. Both individuals refused to testify on 5th amendment grounds.

On Friday, the firm’s lawyers then filed a motion with a local D.C. Court to prevent Fusion GPS’s bank from turning over the company’s bank records to the committee. Access to these records are expected to reveal who paid for the dossier.

  1. First of all it was good that the committee forced them to actually appear. They should have been ready to offer immunity to Catan for his testimony then held him in contempt in DC’s dirtiest jail if he refused to fully testify. Hell, Catlan may actually know who gave it to buzzfeed. As for the bank records, One would think that the congress has the power to completely freeze the accounts of this firm while their legal jiggling plays itself out.

  2. Fusion GPS takes the 5th.
