Co-founder Peter Fritsch and top lieutenant Thomas Catan, of the sleazy research firm behind the infamously fake Russian Dossier, Fusion GPS, were subpoenaed to appear before the House Intelligence Committee this week. Both individuals refused to testify on 5th amendment grounds.
On Friday, the firm’s lawyers then filed a motion with a local D.C. Court to prevent Fusion GPS’s bank from turning over the company’s bank records to the committee. Access to these records are expected to reveal who paid for the dossier.
First of all it was good that the committee forced them to actually appear. They should have been ready to offer immunity to Catan for his testimony then held him in contempt in DC’s dirtiest jail if he refused to fully testify. Hell, Catlan may actually know who gave it to buzzfeed. As for the bank records, One would think that the congress has the power to completely freeze the accounts of this firm while their legal jiggling plays itself out.
They did not even disavow it was their fingers in the cookie jar!
When pressed for further comment, Fusion GPS would only respond, “Recalculating…”
They took the 5th? Darn, now we will never find out what happened.
“I refuse to answer on the grounds that I will definitely, absolutely, positively incriminate myself … and others, who will have me killed.”
izlamo delenda est …
Fusion GPS takes the 5th.

I just ordered TWO cases of my preferred fine, dry red.
I skipped the popcorn this time and ordered two cases of steaks.
