Global Warming: Out, Global Cooling: In

AT: In a world riddled with climate-change doomsday predictions, a small but growing number of scientists are saying the highly touted climate models predicting steadily increasing global temperature due to humans’ carbon-dioxide emissions are wrong and that Earth could soon face something even more dire: global cooling.

One such climate scientist is Valentina Zharkova, an astrophysicist at Northumbria University in the United Kingdom. Zharkova and her team of researchers say that based on mathematical models of the Sun’s magnetic activity, it’s likely Earth will experience decreasing magnetic waves over a 33-year period beginning in 2021.

Zharkova is not alone. In 2017, researchers at the Physical Meteorological Observatory Davos, the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, ETH Zurich, and the University of Bern published a model projecting a cooling period “in 50 to 100 years’ time.” Numerous other studies have made similar projections. Indeed, the website NoTricksZone lists hundreds of peer-reviewed papers that argue solar activity and solar cycles have a substantial influence on global climate change on decadal, century-long, and millennial time scales. Some of these papers even argue that solar activity is often the dominant factor driving climate change.

The researchers say reduced solar magnetic activity has previously been linked to historically cool periods in Earth’s history, such as the Maunder Minimum, a period of lower magnetic activity associated with a “mini ice age” that occurred from 1645 to 1715. During the Maunder Minimum, temperatures plummeted to such an extreme degree that Londoners held “frost fairs” on the frozen Thames River.  read more

  1. Crazed progressives are feverishly working on ideas on how to spin this into “Man-made Global Cooling” so they can deliver the programming to their NPCs.

BTW – why is it still okay to use the term “Man” in certain terms, especially pejorative terms (e.g. Manslaughter, Man-made Global Warming, et. al.)?

  2. Sounds like a good time to annex Mexico and central America, drive the useless marxist minded peasants up into Canada and secure a warm weather vacation paradise under US control.

  3. I have a picture from Upton, ME from yesterday. They got over 6 inches of snow.
Our normal temp here in southern Maine is about 60 for this time of year. All week has been between 35 and 50.

  4. This is great news – for me. I intend to jump on the global cooling bandwagon and have people finance my new documentary “Mo’ Money Now” wherein I stress that within 15 years we will be overrun with polar bears, the sea levels will drop so far that Miami will be in the middle of Florida and New York City will be able to host the Winter Olympics in July. In terms of visual graphics, all I have to do is license Michael Mann’s hockey stick graph and turn it upside down.

Science, schmience – all of you need to wait before jumping on my bandwagon. After all, I have a degree in Left Handed Women’s Studies from some university that advertises degrees on the internet and know enough to talk about “celsius” instead of “farenheit.” And it’s for the money…err, children.

  5. This is what was being claimed — a coming ice age — in the 1970’s when both Newsweek and Time did cover stories about it.

No, no! said the hysterics. It was just bad journalism by bad reporters.

Who knows? The most complicated physics problem facing scientists is *still* just a crystal ball. …..Lady in Red

  6. Somehow this will be spun into a reason for government to grow, take more of our money, and restrict more of our lives

  7. NO! You may NOT have my 6mpg Dodge Ramcharger to keep warm! Burn your Prius, and keep warm the old-fashioned way!!!

  8. Like George Carlin said,
When the earth is had enough of
man it will shake us off like bad case of fleas.
From my studies I gather the sun controls the oceans
    and sun/oceans control the weather.

  9. I already did the cooling thingy in the 70’s. You’d think the folks could be a little more creative to at least keep it entertaining.

  10. At least when mickey moore makes a mockumentary about global cooling, we won’t have to see all his flopsweat….
And whatever happened to the ‘hole in the ozone layer’ that we all grew up with?
