I am and shall always be a fan of fossil fuels. Maybe one day there will be a replacement for them but solar and wind are not it.

Just got phones and internet on in KW….I’ve seen Electric Companies from Louisiana and Pennsylvania…Working their asses off…Publix brought People down to work in the stores…My little Ryobi 2000 kept the beer cold and the Direct TV rockin..
Our youngest is in Tampa Bay Area. They’re out of power still. Will probably be another 7-10 days for them and I feel their pain. It’s hot as shit right now.
Actually, the only fossil fuel is coal. Oil and natural gas are produced deep in the earth – truly “renewable” fuels. The Russians figured this out in the 50’s. However, it suits both environmentalists and the energy industry to call them fossil fuels.
Coal isn’t ‘fossil’ either. Coal is the solidification of oil, oil is the liquefaction of carbon from deep in the planet. This is why geologists look for certain types of rock from core samples, to estimate if oil is available.
Obviously, this is an over simplification.

Where does oil come from? The store? The oil can?
Petroleum is believed by most scientists to be the transformed remains of long dead organisms. The majority of petroleum is thought to come from the fossils of plants and tiny marine organisms
