  1. I’ll never forget the driver of ‘bus 206E. His name was James Holt, Mr Holt to you snot-nosed scumbags. He would put your ass off the ‘bus 7 miles from home if you acted up… AND your parents BETTER be at the ‘bus stop in the morning if you expect to ever get back on that ‘bus.

  2. Little sh**s should be disciplined for spraying a noxious substance on the bus. This woman seems like a nice lady, and her response to the incident was completely justified.

  3. The only annoying thing we ever did on our school bus was sing, “100 bottles of beer on the wall! Take one down, pass it around, 99 bottles of beer on the wall!”

Poor driver, but he took it well and was a really nice man.

  4. I was never “put off” the ‘bus… but I remember a bunch who were. Holt would pull over and say, “You, you, and you, OFF! Your parents will be at the stop tomorrow to hear why.”

Those punks were sniveling and snoting… WHAAAA!

And then Ms Vopat. She was not quite as Military, and a bit slower to burn, but she didn’t suffer fools, either.

That little fuck Charlie had to walk to school, about 14 miles one way, for a week. And his Dad behind him riding a bicycle, carrying a switch.

Charlie became famous for calling Ms Vopat a, “Pussy-ass nigger!”

Which was extra weird because Ms Vopat was as white as new snow… and not a pussy at all.

I was called to the office for that one. “What did Charlie say?”

    “Uhh, something really stupid.”

“What did he say? We need to know.”

  5. This is our school district. Have one kid left in school ( 5 kids, 20+ years in the district ). I was sent the video shortly after it happened. My wife and I both said don’t blame her. She just had enough. Someone should start a go fund me for her. Sure enough they did. For this area, it’s still considered one of the best school districts around. Problem here is universal to lack of parenting, 2 parent home, etc. To make matters worse is there are now 100’s of kids going to Amherst schools that should be going to Lorain. They keep building houses on the edges so the property is worth more because of this school district. Open enrollment over the years, some shady things happened and presto, you have kids who live closer to schools in Lorain, yet go to Amherst.
We have watched the district slowly decay over the last 20 years. There are many reasons…..no doubt. There is absolutely no way I would drive the bus for these kids. I would be fired the first week when little Johnny got mouthy with me. The kids abuse the time on the bus in way you can not imagine.

The VAST majority of us locals strongly support her. Even one of the parents who’s kid got called out on the video 😉

  6. When my Mother and Brother were in a terrible vehicle wreck Ms Vopat was the first one to send cards and flowers to the hospital. And my Brother had damn near broke out her windscreen with a tennis ball some months before the wreck.

My Brother was not in good shape. And no one ever figured out how Mom survived. The truck was crushed.

  7. I used to live in Ohio in a city near Amherst. It’s a real shithole now with a lot of “diversity”. When my sons were small, my big dream was to be able to move to Amherst because of how good the school district was. I have nothing but admiration for this bus driver. It’s probably the first real discipline some of those kids have seen.

  8. Conservative Cowgirl, we drove the bus drivers nuts singing the old pirate song Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest, yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum along with 99 bottles of beer on the wall and on long field trips could sing all 99 choruses. Didn’t all kids sing those songs back then? You take one round and pass it around…

  9. I had the same schoolbus driver Headstart (yes, I’m that old) through 12t grade. I had a Willys pick up and was driving to school at 14 and many vehicles after. They weren’t always running and sometimes I’d still ride the bus out of necessity even as a senior. A lot of evenings my bus driver smelled like whiskey. He raised chickens and cattle for a living and had the bus driving job for insurance and supplemental income. I’ve personally seen the speedometer setting on 70 m.p.h. on a dirt road I’ve also seen this man throw two boys off the bus for fighting in the middle of nowhere and then go back and get them. I watched him take his belt off once and threaten to whip a bully. That kid did not cause any more trouble. For the most part, students were never unruly or misbehaving. The driver wouldn’t tolerate less and as an adult, I do not blame him. Yes, some of the methods used by bus driver were crude, but he was effective even if he had a him a snort now and again. Good luck and Godspeed to the bus driver in the story! We need more Americans like him.
