I kept looking for the Safe Space signs and didn’t see any. WTF?
When I’m in Italy I eat Italian food. I’m not a big fan of turkey. Italian food is my favorite.
But they make terrible pizza.

The first ThanksGiving I spent in the Army we had a Italian cook from the Bronx and he surprised us with his families Turkey Cacatore that was cooked for hours in his secret sauce..He was an excellent cook. We lost him to some officer after word got out about his culinary excellence.
An old tradition of Marines/Navy in the Philippines: The Marine Barracks on the Navy base (120 plus Jarheads) would all buy tickets to a special Thanksgiving dinner. Only once the day arrives, none of the Marines show up at the ballroom, it remains all decorated but empty. The large amounts of food is then given away to the local Philippine families.
The Navy families living on base would host the Marines. A little known fact that you never hear of unless you’ve been there.
We owe so much to that generation. Happy Thanks Giving to all our veterans and to those who now serve. God bless their families, too.
I thought the Navy got the gravy,
and the Army got the beans.
