Taylor Swift and ACLU Go to War Over White Supremacist Accusation

NTK: The pop star threatened legal action against a publication that accused her of white supremacist leanings. The ACLU is defending the publisher.

It appears that after pop star Taylor Swift buried singing rival Katy Perry in record sales to essentially put an end to their fued, Swift has a new enemy: the American Civil Liberties Union.

Swift’s lawyers threatened to sue PopFront, a little-known pop culture site, after the publication posted an article that compared the pop singer to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler:

Taylor’s lyrics in “Look What You Made Me Do” seem to play to the same subtle, quiet white support of a racial hierarchy. Many on the alt-right see the song as part of a “re-awakening,” in line with Trump’s rise. At one point in the accompanying music video, Taylor lords over an army of models from a podium, akin to what Hitler had in Nazis Germany. The similarities are uncanny and unsettling.

The article also compared the lyrics of Swift’s music to the chants of neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, and the author hypothesized that the singer was “serv[ing] as indoctrination into white supremacy.”

In response to the article, the pop star’s lawyers demanded that the site take down the post.

Then the ACLU of Northern California sprinted to PopFront‘s defense, arguing that accusations of white supremacy thrown at Swift did not constitute defamation:  MORE

  1. So I’m to believe that the so called “white supremacy” movement just can’t get enough of the bubblegum pop music and/or Taylor Swift is eager to court the couple hundred pre-teen skinheads yearning for a voice for their movement (that gets radio play on top 40 channels and has a beat that you can dance to).

  2. So a singer… sorry an “entertainer”… as suit happy as Harvey Weinstein, is throwing burning cash at the ACLU? Just because I hope Kim Jong Un sells “self defense candles” to both… on the same day, delivered at the same minute… doesn’t mean I wish said “entertainer” better than I wish the ACLU.

  3. “Then the ACLU of Northern California sprinted to PopFront‘s defense, arguing that accusations of white supremacy thrown at Swift did not constitute defamation”

No, no; I’m sure it was meant as a compliment.

  4. “At one point in the accompanying music video, Taylor lords over an army of models from a podium” And how different is that from Britney leading Prep school kids in a synchronized dance or Michael Jackson leading a troupe of dancing zombies.

  5. This is Marxists infiltration. First it was Racists, now it’s White Supremacist. This is serious as most of our youth are ignorant of this evil due to poor education.
They want us separated into groups they can intimidate and control. They want our guns and they want to end free speech. We cannot ignore this. I am with Taylor Swift on this one.
We need to respond by calling them Anti Americans or Enemies of America and accuse them of what they are doing. It needs to be said over and over until Americans understand what it is about. This is how countries are lost to Marxism.
