  1. So many possibilities here. For one, he tried to get into a soccer game last week wearing a rainbow shirt, in Qatar. Of course if it was a Muslim ‘homophobe’ that would be buried in the news.

Are they wrong? We know a couple contractors, oil related, that moved over there and now don’t want to return to the FUSA until their kids graduate. Even in the American schools, there’s no woke shit. It’s the three Rs. Personally I don’t think they are afraid of gays, they just don’t want them around.

…that’s a long damn scene time for an unknown down. You do need to revive and stabilize if possible and there are a variety of things you need to do like defib, drugs, intubation, that cool little CPR robot they have now, etc., but at some point you need to pull the trigger on getting the patient to an actual hospital with doctors and greater capabilities including emergency surgery. Some stuff you can do enroute so it’s not like you settle back in the bus and enjoy the ride, but generaly speaking the sooner you get there, the better chance of a positive outcome you have.

I also wonder what strictures are on Qatari paramedics and doctors because, Islam. There are places in the world where they will shrug and say your death in an auto accident is simply the will of a!!ah and so not even try, and a whole range of medicines may be off limits because they “might” have pork involved in some way, plus they may just be doing a show code and not really trying because, infidel.

“He was later pronounced dead Saturday morning at a Qatari hospital…”

…most people are pronounced dead at the hospital. Doesn’t mean they didn’t die before, just means that’s where a doctor made it official. They may or may not tried further resuscitation there depending on the doctors assessment of the patient and/or whether he wanted to/ was told to try or not because, Islam, but in no case should you ever take “died at the hospital” literally.

This battle probably was lost sometime in that half-hour on the scene, or the probable 10-15 minutes before they got there, or the second the clot plugged up something important.

But we’ll still say “died at the hospital” to make everyone feelz beddar, and so they can proclaim to an international audience “we did all we could”.

And honestly? They may HAVE done all they could. Sometimes God says NO. You can’t save everyone.

    Rule #1 – People die.
Rule #2 – Doctors cannot negate Rule #1.

Not everything is sinister. People die unexpectedly sometimes.

    Shit happens.

Don’t know which one this is. Because every government is lying about everything at this point, including (especially) our own, we probably never will.

  6. His wife, a member of Biden’s covid TRANSITION team, effectively transitioned her husband to his death. She has to look in the mirror everyday. Doctors are dropping dead too.

People do not realize that things are based upon official declarations.

Twenty years ago, my oldest brother had a heart attack at about 5 PM. He either did not notice it or realize it until he collapsed just before midnight. By the time the EMT’s got there and declared him dead it was after midnight — so he “officially” died on my birthday.

A good friend of mine died twelve years ago. No one had heard from him for a couple of days so his boss (they were both locksmiths) came and went into my friend’s apartment and found him dead in his recliner. He had probably been dead for a day or two but he was officially declared dead on the day he way found.

Sorry about your brother. I know it’s been awhile, but you never stop missing those who went on before you, and it’s truly awful it was declared on your birthday. My father in law passed one Christmas and it took awhile for my wife to get close to back to normal about it.

The “declared dead” thing I got a real good lesson in one night when around 2 AM (nothing good happens then) a drunk biker with dim lights due to electrical problems got punted from his bike by a semi, then run over by five or so cars. Never a question it was anything but hazmat when we got there and went hither and yon finding various bits of him in the dark, which we placed in multiple fluid containment bags and reunited them in my squad.

So we went in the pale dawn to the morgue, where the night keeper heard our tale, glanced in our literal bags of bones, and said with a smirk “Can’t take him. He’s not dead”.

At the time (and since been changed under Ohio law), ONLY a doctor could “officially” declare someone dead. As the pathologist wouldn’t be in till MUCH later and our erstwhile passenger wasn’t getting any fresher, we bucked him over to the nearby general hospital, where a tired but amused young ER doc decamped brefly to the ambulance bay to pass his highly trained eye over our sacks of sadness, and using wisdom that only years of training can apparently provide, and in what must have been his easiest patient of his call did render the diagnosis that our bags of biker were no longer a viable human being, and solemnized such with his signature. Now equipped with genuine doctor authoization, we were finally able to return to Igor and get our patient the refrigeration he so desperately required.

Happily the vast majority of my patients were not quite so unreachable so it didn’t come up a lot, but it DID come up. Absent a calamity that could bring an Air Care flight surgeon to the scene, even the clearly departed needed a doctor visit to formalize their finish.

  9. A month-back my cousin’s step-mum basically earnt $2,900 just sitting there twelve hours a week in their apartment and they’re best friend’s mother-in-law`s neighbour has been doing this for nine months and easily made more than $12,000 part-time from their laptop.

Would it be inappropriate to say LOL?”

Sure. Laughing beats crying, and it is something of a dark joke. I probably did at the time, but the only people around would have been Peter Lorre, my partner, and our somewhat separated guest star, and HE certainly didn’t mind…
