Nolte: Classy Bush Funeral Reminds Us of Just How Awful the McCain Family Is

Breitbart: Whatever you might think of the Bush dynasty’s legacy, no one can ever accuse the family of not showing class and decency.

And their sterling example of this, while saying goodbye to their beloved patriarch, has also served as an important reminder of just how awful the McCain family is.

Remember when Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) died?

How could you forget?

The funeral lasted longer than the first season of Cop Rock — something like nine episodes.

McCain died on a Saturday, and his funeral services did not come to an end until the following Sunday, but only after it had toured three different cities. George H.W. Bush died on Friday and his services will end on Thursday. Both men were legitimate war heroes, but only one was a U.S. president.

Although illuminating, that is the least of it.

President Bush’s funeral has been lovely, classy, unifying, and loving. There have been no cheap snubs, no axe grinding from the grave.

The Bush family’s simple and decent act of burying the hatchet with President Trump, their patriotic act of making the president (and by extension his supporters) feel welcome and honored at these services, that is true patriotism, and that is what American democracy is supposed to be about.

What’s more, because of this, as sad as it all is, the funeral has been a healthy and uplifting national event, a rare time in these bitter days when all Americans have come together, an important reminder that, despite our differences, we do share a common culture and decency.

And it is also, by way of comparison, another reminder that the McCain funeral was something closer to an obscenity.

By far, the worst part of McCain’s going-away grudgefest was the clown show of audacious hypocrisy, the slathering sanctimony found in a theme that begged for us to go back to the good old days when people were civil with one another — and yet, all of this tripe about “civility” was coming from those who used a war hero’s funeral to snub and bash everyone who is not a member of their elitist establishment club — including, unforgivably, the president of the United States.

The catty, childish snubbing of the president is unforgivable, not because Donald Trump was snubbed, but because the office of the presidency was snubbed. That office represents We the People, and no matter who occupies that office, be it Barack Obama or Trump, when you shit on the president you shit on the people, and that is just how awful the McCain family is.

And then there were the so-called eulogies, most of which were reprehensible acts of narcissistic exploitation. On one hand, you had eulogies being used as score-settling tirades against Trump and his supporters, and on the other you had those like Meghan McCain — the deceased’s own child, for God’s sake — using her eulogy to up her media profile, to create a YouTube moment, to reassure the same hideous media that personally destroyed her father during his 2008 presidential run, that she is one of them.

  1. Classy in appearance only, me thinks.

Off topic: Did anyone sense that everybody on the front row BUT Trump and the 1st lady was under extreme tension through the body language?

The only one NOT worried was Obama’s ‘wife’.

  2. McCain, the twin brother of Mr. Potter, who in his final days gave us two big thumbs down and left millions upon millions of Americans with Screw-U-Care healthcare plans that are slowly bankrupting us all and making real healthcare inaccessible and completely unaffordable. Like Stalin before him, he discovered that misplaced anger provides enough fuel to shake his fist at the heavens one last time.

  3. 🌟Sorry: The Bush Family is no better🌟

The Bush daughters are liberal boot-licking New York snobs just like McCain’s daughter, Newt Gingrich’s daughter, and Ronald Reagan’s genetic garbage of a son.

The family either didn’t vote for Trump or passively supported the worst human being in America since Charles Manson died.

So McCain’s funeral wasn’t the “Triumph of the Will”-Paul Wellstone political rally, but it was still a political rally, although a nasty and depressing one.

Never trust a liberal Republican, and that’s why I neither voted for McCain nor Romney.

  4. One of only 45 in our entire history vs thousands who have been senators (currently 100 at any given moment in time).
McCain should not have been so honored.
If we were going for such a sendoff for a senator, it would be better for an honorable man like Bob Dole. Yes, he did screw up our chance at having a republican president because of his age, but he was an actual wounded combat veteran.

  5. The messages at each funeral for 41 did preach Jesus, Resurrection, and Heaven with an afterlife as given due to a faith lived in the public square.

Can’t say the same for McCain/

The only one who tried the petty pc religion insert was that lousy pastoreette from the national cathedral who was given a small speaking part due to it being her venue. (Jesus is the resurrection and life – not a resurrection and life.)

  6. Perfect!
Contrasting Trump’s level of class with Bush’s is insignificant.

However, pointing out how classless McCain was compared to Trump is right on.
Trump is not the one to hold a grudge all the way to his death bed.

  7. Slightly off topic — did anyone notice Bush 43’s body language and facial expressions when Congressman Paul Ryan spoke at the Rotunda in DC ?
Some serious animosity going on from Bush towards Ryan, whose eulogy sounded phony. Did not happen during VP Pence’s eloquence.

  8. …bitterness, unforgiving, and anger don’t make it into Heaven. I’m not his judge, thankfully, but the words of one who IS suggests that McCain’s eternal home never needs winterizing…

Ephesians 4:31 “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.”

Proverbs 19:19 “A man of great anger will bear the penalty, For if you rescue him, you will only have to do it again.”

Job 5:2 “For anger kills a fool, and jealousy slays the gullible.”

…and this rather long parable by the Lord Himself sums it MUCH better than I ever could on unforgiveness, so I’ll give Him the last word…

    Matthew 18:23-35

“23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.””

  9. I only agreed to watch the coverage after being reassured Baby-Fat McCain wasn’t involved in delivering any of the eulogies. I’m sure the MSM will be milking this well into next week.

  10. The pomp and ceremony, the length thereof and the glowing coverage of the MSM was befitting of a true New World Order idealist, not a mere president. The powers of the dark state around the world and its mouthpiece celebrated the life and obedience of one of their own.

POTUS and FLOTUS were completely surrounded in the national cathedral and they knew it. It seemed that the President and First Lady did not participate in the congregational responses. My guess is that they knew that this was a display for globalists who are undermining the sovereignty of the USA. IMHO.

  11. Never forget the role of H. Ross Perot in delivering the Clintons and Bush and Obama to all of us. Bush would have beaten Clinton without Perot in the race. The county has been changed unalterably for the worse since the Clintons “felt our pain.”

  12. @Supernightshade:

Thank you for posting those verses. They reminded me that I must forgive people who have provoked me to anger and caused bitterness in me in a situation that I am currently going through. God bless you.

    9
  13. You are welcome, @1harpazo, but posting God’s word is my privilege. I am always happy when I can do it, but it’s HIS word, not mine, and to HIM be the glory…

God bless you too. And God save us all. No other CAN.

  14. No amount of feigned class can hide the crimes of the Bush’s family. I don’t think any American who plots to destroy our country deserves the honor of a state funeral. The Bushes are aligned with the Clintons and both have blood on their hands.
