Germany sends China £130billion bill for ‘coronavirus damages’ – sparks fury in Beijing

express-

GERMANY has rattled China after joining the UK, France and the US in a rare attack, after Berlin called out Beijing’s responsibility for the global pandemic and even issued a £130bn invoice.

On Saturday, Donald Trump warned that China should face consequences if it was “knowingly responsible” for unleashing the coronavirus pandemic.

President Trump told reporters: “It could have been stopped in China before it started and it wasn’t, and the whole world is suffering because of it.

“If it was a mistake, a mistake is a mistake. But if they were knowingly responsible, then there should be consequences.

He said the Chinese were “embarrassed” and the question was whether what happened with the coronavirus was “a mistake that got out of control, or was it done deliberately?”

  1. Will this push china towards war? Throughout history tyrants have used war as a distraction to what is really happening. Do they they really expect china to admit they did something wrong? Are germany and the uk expecting the USA to protect them from china? And how foolish will they look when china refuses to pay? A better alternative is for the world to stop buying chinese goods.

  2. Jimmy- Who knows.
Xi is willing, but his people, not so much.

Panama’s Norriega had this problem. When he needed his people to cut down their friends, family, neighbors, or run over to another country to start shit, they wouldn’t do it. He had to get rentals from Cuba and Colombia.

  3. I think that Xi is on the cusp of being replaced by his Central Committee….he has brought them great shame and dishonor that is going to cause a lot of unrest in the country. People are now accustomed to the good life that has been interrupted because of the virus domestically and more importantly, internationally. They are the first port of entry of the world’s supply chain, and that is now threatened as the West looks to domesticate manufacturing in an increasing way.
I wouldn’t think that his room temp carcass is going to be on display next to Mao’s…maybe it’ll be on display at Wuhan’s wet market; how fitting.

  4. The World should make it a priority to cut through the internet blockades & censoring to give china’s citizens real open access to the internet and information rather than through a commie filter & censorship.

    The uprising will be monumental!

  5. Next trade talk with China needs to sound like “You know all that debt of ours you used to hold: used to!. Our business interests and people have already been given notice to leave by mow. You are the new Cuba before restrictions were eased.

  6. China can fight a war only as long as their Navy floats. Then the alternatives switch to Nuclear delivered by ballistic missiles. They are a face saving bunch.

  7. Sent following piece to Trump 3 weeks ago”
The Trump administration needs to put in place a program to accelerate the return of plants and companies in China. Would propose meeting with a group of business reps. and advocate them using their unrepatriated offshore profits together with funds they are using to purchase their own stock to finance the move of production facilities in China back to US. Every confirmed dollar so invested would be given a 35% tax credit on their future Federal Corp Tax. Give them 24 months to execute. If the companies find this unacceptable then let them propose an alternative. Companies probably have close to $1 trillion of funds from these sources. The government spending $350 billion to cut the country’s trade deficit with China in half would be a massive win for the US. In addition, the administration should propose a Job Camp program, where trade and tech skills are taught. Goal would be to train 1-2 million workers. This is a very minimum proposal, but could be a place to start. China has declared full scale hostities against the US, and this current situation in China is the perfect opportunity to rectifiy 30 years of stupid trade policies.
