The Beatification of Ruth Bader Ginsburg

American Thinker: In anticipation of her seat being the next Supreme Court vacancy to be filled by President Trump, Hollywood has come out with a fawning biopic of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg depicting how in 1956 she overcame the sexist fortress of Harvard Law School to become the feminist icon she is today:

It’s 1956, and Ginsburg is one of only nine women in the class, facing the slings and arrows of sexist men of all ages. The opening scene will be deeply satisfying, especially for viewers who have joined the burgeoning cult of RBG, because they know what those students obviously didn’t: That Ginsburg will end up sitting on the Supreme Court, long after most of the guys who beat her out for law firm jobs have retired to the golf course. More than that, the elderly Ginsburg will become a cultural icon of still-uncharted dimensions.

“On the Basis of Sex,” a full Hollywood production in which the young Ginsburg is played by Felicity Jones, is the latest entry in the popular movement that presents the pioneering women’s-rights attorney as a kind of progressive superhero. The film is a myth-building exercise for a woman who’s reached mythic stature in a shockingly short period of time.

Without saying so, the film probably anticipates her replacement is likely to be Justice Amy Coney Barrett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, as far from Ginsburg’s secular progressive and anti-Constitution philosophy as one can get. Just as John F. Kennedy was said by some to be a stalking horse for the Vatican who would clear each major decision with the Pope, Barrett, a practicing Catholic who actually gets it right, was charged with embracing Catholic dogma so tightly that there is no room left for the Constitution and those “emanations from the penumbras” that sanctified Roe V. Wade.

Catholic League President Bill Donahue addressed the issue on “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox:

Senate Democrats grilled Barrett over how her Catholic faith would affect her views on court precedents concerning abortion cases during her confirmation process after Trump nominated her as a circuit judge in 2017.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), in particular, showed what Catholic League President Bill Donahue called anti-religion “animus” during their questioning of her religious beliefs…

“Let’s remember… the seminal statement by Sen. Feinstein — she said the dogma screams loudly in you,” Donahue told Ingraham. “That’s coming awfully close to establishing a religious test.”

Feinstein received intense backlash after she told Barrett during her confirmation hearing, “Dogma and law are two different things. And, I think whatever a religion is, it has its own dogma. The law is totally different. And I think in your case, professor, when you read your speeches, the conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you.”  MORE

  1. RGB played by Felicity Jones … WTF? Have the producers / directors / casting agents NOT seen RGB? They’re WAY OFF!

  2. Beatification? Does that involve a bat? ‘Cause I’ve got no problem with letting someone else grab the glory, if it involves a bat.

  3. Were “Uncle Joe” not a devout atheist he would be the first to hail his long time acolyte “SAINT RUTH!”!

  4. I honestly don’t understand how in the world is it possible for her to seriously weigh in on anything before the Supreme Court when she has been raised to celebrity status simply because she´s still breathing???
D-RATs scrambling for their last crumbs of relativity!

  5. Saw this trailer at the theater waiting for Clint Eastwood’s latest. Sadly, i was the only one to laugh out loud.

    We’re doomed.

  6. At this point voting for justices simply comes down to whether the Senate has enough Republicans to get 50 votes (likely a couple more than 50 in case any vote against), because every single Democrat will simply vote no. There is no objectivity anymore.

  7. Let them have their false gods.

RBG will be one of many to enter that pantheon; the important thing is that she enters and sooner rather than later. Call her Asheroth, the consort of Baal and the left can burn incense to her memory and we will replace her seat with the intention of erasing that same memory.

  8. The USSR commies used to bury their best buddies (including American
traitors) in the shadow of the Kremlin
wall. Since we kicked their ass, the old so-and-so will have to find another hole.

  9. I’m outing “Jack Duggan was His Name.”
Google “The Ed Sullivan Show, The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Mackem singing “The Wild Colonial Boy.” Lovely, bloody, lively Irish tune.
Happy New Year to all of you at IOTW Report. God Bless you and God Bless America and President Trump.

  10. This Lefty nutcase, as former lead attorney for the ACLU, is highly responsible for bringing men into women’s locker rooms, restrooms, and sports.

  11. So, is the movie going to include her quite progressive views on race, including her desire for the brown races to eliminate themselves?

  12. I remember once reading that Ruth Bader Ginsberg of the US Supreme Court gave a lecture to members of a budding nation somewhere, and she encouraged them not to consider the US Constitution as a guide.
    Anyone with facts?

  13. Just saw the commercial for “inspired by” but not based on true events life of Granny Clampett.

I don’t want to spoil the ending but she dies of cancer before her dream of equality is realized. So it’s a happy ending.

  14. Currently employed part-time as a ER assistant with no criminal background. Got a deal on a 50′ RBG monitor hook-up from Amazon. Please send her my way.

  15. Trump is having a lot of whispers in his ear about who to appoint when Ginsberg croaks. A lot of them will be talking about “balance” on the court needs a liberal. He needs to ignore them and appoint a real constitutionalist juror of either sex. Screw the left if they scream and rant, prove to them once again he’s not the type to fold because of the PC crowd.

  16. scr_north, I think the left poisoned their well with the Kavannaugh shitshow; they won’t be taken seriously with the Barret nomination.

  17. moe tom-

“”You should certainly be aided by all the constitution-writing that has gone one since the end of World War II. I would not look to the US constitution, if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012. I might look at the constitution of South Africa….”
    RBG in Egypt, 2012

If she had to have her scraggly ass transported to the hospital for broken ribs, I doubt she later had the mental clarity, after thoracic surgery earlier the same day, to read and sign a decision of the Supreme Court about immigration law. She has a very low pain tolerance, which isn’t a fault. She was in another world on fentanyl based pain meds, or similar. I doubt _she_ signed that, at least coherently.

  18. Toby Miles. Thank you. She was a member of the ACLU when appointed and the Republicans didn’t utter a word. Whereas Justice Thomas and Justice Kavanagh were keel hauled by the Demorats. A phucking disgrace.
